As singer, songwriter, recording artist, keynote speaker, workshop leader, and instructor, David has earned top honors at premier songwriter competitions – Kerrville (TX) and Falcon Ridge (NY) – and taken his music, experience, and expertise to a wide variety of venues in this and other countries full-time for more than two decades.

Connor Garvey is an award-winning singer-songwriter from Portland, Maine, with the amiable presence of an entertainer, the lyrical depth of a poet, and the enchantment of a storyteller.
Garvey leaves audiences uplifted and inspired through a positive message delivered in a way The Portland Press Herald says proves you can be optimistic and self-aware without being boring. His unique sandy tenor and masterful blend of rhythm and melody draw comparison to Paul Simon and contemporaries Josh Ritter and Jason Mraz. He wins song competitions. He fills rooms. But most of all he moves people.

The Cape Ann Museum is pleased to present, in collaboration with Rockport Music, the Aeolus String Quartet. The Quartet will introduce their instruments, the different roles they play and the different tools used by composers to make their quartet repertoire distinctive—all presented in a program that will cultivate a greater love for music and a deeper understanding of how a team can become greater than the sum of its parts.

Caramel Apple CrispA few years ago I created and posted this recipe…It’s become a fall favorite in our home…If you love caramel apples, and apple crisp, this is a must try recipe! I can’t wait to serve it for dessert tonight with a scoop of Vanilla Bean Gelato using apples from our dear friends Jeremy and Tanya Frost’s fruitful back yard Apple Tree! I have never seen a tree bearing 2 different verities of apples growing from a single tree trunk! Both the red Gala and yellow Golden Delicious tasted delicious! Jeremy held the ladder for me while I hand picked and filled 2 large bags last Saturday! The Frost’s apple tree was a magnificent sight in their yeard this year! Jeremy reported that this years harvest is the best in the past several years, and that this was the first year it beared two types of apples. Thank you for sharing your special tree with me, I’m having a great time in the kitchen whipping up our fall favorite confections and have also created a few new recipes that have been big hits!

This is what they looked like before they hit the grill-
I substituted Jalapeno peppers for the hatch chiles and instead of trying to measure out the long list of spices I just scooped out a tub of jalapeno flavored cream cheese, dumped in a couple of handfuls of shredded cheddar and mixed in the rub that I had on my desk for the stuffing. Way easier IMO.
The cooking instructions from the recipe were spot on, so follow those and you’ve got a simple killer game day appetizer. If this stiff can prepare them on his desk at the dock, you should be able to pull this off with ease.
After attempting to photograph the Moon, Venus, and Jupiter in the night sky Wednesday morning, the colors were so spectacular I couldn’t help but stay to photograph the rising sun. The beach was soon alive with surfers, paddle boarders, photographers, and dog walkers, in that order. The three panoramas were taken at about ten minute intervals. Click on the image or drag panoramas to your desktop to embiggen.
Thinking I would just take a few shots of the night sky, I had run out the door wearing only a light sweater. Staying longer than anticipated I came home shivering. Bundle up if out for an early walk on these gorgeous, albeit chilly, October mornings.
Few more snapshots here. Continue reading “GOOD HARBOR BEACH SUNRISE PANORAMAS AND SURFERS”
