Columbia was first home on elapsed time at the Labor Day weekend Schooner Festival

What a sailing day on The Lannon on Saturday. Just beautiful.

Safe, fast, friendly. What a tremendous service provided by our town. For many the launch operators are the first people visitors encounter when coming to town by boat. These gentlemen couldn’t be any better ambassadors. Nice work TJ Ciarametaro, Mayor Sefatia, Gloucester Waterways Board, Launch operators. I give the service a ten out of ten.

I had the pleasure of volunteering for the public visitation at the Schooner Fest on Saturday morning. Gorgeous morning! It was wonderful to see so many interested visitors. Some scenes as I saw the morning unfold:
It takes a lot of work to keep Brilliant brilliant:

Visitors came from all directions:

Join Beauport Cruiselines on Sunday, September 15th aboard the Champy Jazz Brunch Cruise!

This extraordinary experience aboard Beauport Cruiselines will not only include the featured Champy Champagne, but will also include a Champy Bubbly Deck, a live jazz performance by C-Zone Entertainment, music by DJ Scottie Mac, a delicious brunch buffet, stunning views of Gloucester Harbor and, last but certainly not least, a trunk show by the upcoming performance and athleisure brand, Fierce and Regal.

Jeannine O’Neil of Gloucester will participate in the Alzheimer’s Association Neponset Valley Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, September 14 at Patriot Place in Foxboro. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
O’Neil has had her fair share of family members and friends be diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Her paternal grandmother passed in 2003 from cancer but had dementia a few years prior, her maternal grandmother had Alzheimer’s for 11 years before passing in 2011. On February 19, 2019, O’Neil’s mother passed away at the age of 66 from Alzheimer’s after a 7 year battle. O’Neil’s father, husband, and herself were all caregivers to her mother before her passing.
“Having been through it a few times, I felt I needed to do something to try and make a change,” said ONeil. “The Walk was something that was easy to do and wasn’t a huge time constraint for me. It’s incredible to see so many people from all walks of life come together to fight this disease at one event.”
“We are grateful to our Walk participants, they are raising the level of awareness in the community and their fundraising dollars fuel our mission,” shared Ryan Vigue, Director of Development at the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter. “People of all ages and abilities that join the Walk find it to be an inspiring and empowering experience. Together, we are working towards our vision of a world without Alzheimer’s disease.”

Love this weekend with the schooners sailing around Gloucester Harbor.
