Picture yourself relaxing on the deck of this beautiful 65- foot schooner as she sails out of Gloucester harbor on a light southwesterly breeze.

Join us for a two hour sail and get a taste for what it was like to sail on a fishing schooner a hundred years ago. Help the crew raise the sails, or just sit back and take in the sights and sounds of Gloucester’s coastline.

Some of our weekend public sails feature music. We offer group rates. And we specialize in private charters for weddings, corporate entertainment, teambuilding, birthdays and more. The Lannon is a great place for a party!

Chris McCarthy’s Lobster Totals Are Under Review

You’ve heard of plyometrics, you’ve heard of sabermetrics, well now folks Chris McCarthy is apparently applying Fudge-o-metrics in counting his lobster totals for the year.

Huge controversy in the lobster totals and calculations from shady unscrupulous pooping dog owner Chris McCarthy have led to a full scale investigation. Everything is under review. EVERYTHING!

Roger Goodell and Brett Cavanaugh have been called in to get to the bottom and find a just ruling.

For the first time ever in its 98-year history, the Rockport Art Association & Museum will be holding an exhibition of national scope and proportions!  The RAA&M National 2019 is an open invitational for artists across the United States to exhibit artwork crafted in a diverse number of media (drawing, mixed media, collage, photography, painting, digital art and sculpture) here at the Rockport Art Association & Museum.  It is an opportunity to show artwork that reveals the diversity of the Creative Community around us here on Cape Ann, and an occasion to introduce new artistic influences from beyond this region to artists and the public alike.

With the extremely generous and selfless support of public institutions and private individuals over $5,000 in prize money is to be awarded for superlative works in the categories of drawing, mixed media, collage, photography, painting, digital art and sculpture.  The Institution for Savings is sponsoring the show itself, while the following organizations have elected to sponsor prizes:

Security First Mortgage Funding, LLC

Our two judges are the nationally-recognized and Tom Hughes for the category of traditional art (www.tomhughespaintings.com/home), and the esteemed Jo Ann Rothschild in the category of contemporary art (www.joannrothschild.com).  Through a juried selection process the artwork is judged, with winning pieces being awarded monetary prizes ranging from $250. to $1,000. apiece.  Using past attendance numbers as a guide, we project approximately 10,000 (to possibly as many as 40,000 attendees for this show.)
