My View of Life on the Dock

My beautiful and super independent mother-in-law is leaving on a jet plane which inspired me to ask for a custom corsage. I’m calling it a ‘travel corsage’. What do you think? Say hi if you see her. Thanks Sage Floral Studio for helping me make her feel special.

Another breathtaking photo from Paul Horovitz as the day begins on the Annisquam. Won’t be long now until the river begins welcoming early season boaters.

I saw a splash of yellow blooms in the Betty Smith Garden and had to hope out and share it with you all. It seemed to me that Triton was trumpeting the announcement of Spring on the horizon.

I happened to be looking at the Gloucester Daily Times from Aug 7 1959 when President Eisenhower was in office and Gloucester was being led by its first female mayor, Beatrice Corliss. Some of these faces, vessels and family names might ring a bell with our readers. Check out the tire prices! I hope the memories bring a smile to some faces today.
I took CB (crystal ball) around town yesterday to some familiar sights. I wonder how many of these spots you recognize?

It’s all about the Agni (digestive fire)?
Through the lens of #Ayurveda, #Agni is the most important factor in determining ones dietary needs.
In Ayurveda we say “you are not what you eat, you are what you digest”
At Ayurveda Wellness Healing, LLC we work with many clients whose agni is either too low or too high and once balanced are amazed at how well they feel.
Causes of weak Agni:
Eating the same foods
Overeating
Drinking too much water with meals
Eating at irregular times
Staying up late
Not exercising enough
Eating out of accordance with one’s constitution
Resisting the urge to eat
Not sure if yours is low or high?

My daughter Liv and I love to just hop in the car and go exploring along the coast. Far off in the distance we passed this amazingly beautiful tree and I just had to take a few snapshots. Isn’t the shape stunning!?! We took lots of photos wherever we stopped and will try to find the time to post later this week.
Edited update: After Googling around, this tree in Duxbury is well-known as the ‘Perfect Tree’ and also the ‘Gumdrop Tree.’ The Perfect Tree has been pruned to its perfect shape and may be an American Linden or possibly a Copper Beach. I’m looking for more information and will contact the Duxbury Historical Society 🙂
Which competition do you think is more insane? Cheese roll race or the Greasy Pole?
Please consider helping this beautiful, kind lady. Thank you ❤
In October of 2018 Josephine Taormina was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Her team of doctors swiftly and aggressively started treatment with chemotherapy. After 70 days in the hospital, Josephine was released knowing that she would receive a stem cell transplant over the next few months from her daughter.
The stem cell transplant was considered a success and everyone thought Josephine was on her road to recovery.
Her first relapse happened in September 2019. She was back in the hospital which was becoming an all to familiar place for her and her family. During her hospitalizations, Josephine acquired many side effects both common and rare.

Sweeping drop view across construction sites to Gloucester Net & Twine building, Strong Group
About the future Glen T. Macleod Center Cape Ann YMCA (opening fall 2020) here
About Gloucester Net & Twine building –
Besides the leather factory (founded in 1932), Strong Group businesses on site for three generations of the Cutter family include advertising and product and promotional projects. Prior to the leather business, the historic factory was built and incorporated in 1884. Gloucester Net & Twine quickly ramped up as a major ancillary supplier for the fishing industry. It’s one of the largest oldest factories still standing and was placed on the National Historic Registry in 1996. Eight volumes of historic plan books for Gloucester Net & Twine Company are in the collection of Phillips Library, Peabody Essex Museum.
Gloucester Net & Twine Company is included in the National Park Service maritime history trail in MA. Gloucester is one of the cities with the most sites–only Boston has more. Besides this historic factory building, other Gloucester sites on the maritime trail include: Our Lady of Good Voyage, East Gloucester Square Historic District, Man at the Wheel, Schooner Adventure, Ten Pound Light, Eastern Point Light Station, and Annisquam Harbor Light Station. – C.
