The setting sunlight was so pretty on the lighthouse and Paint Factory recently. I was so busy setting up for the moonrise that I almost missed it.

Smoked Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Start out with store bought mashed potatoes.

Transfer the container of mashed potatoes to a tin container, cut up a half a stick of butter and insert the pads of butter evenly.

Scoop out a couple of tablespoons of minced garlic and spread evenly on top.

Set up the smoker for indirect grilling, pit temp between 300-350, add wood for smoke.

When the top just starts to brown up a little whip it up a little to distribute the butter and garlic and then cover it and let it go for another 10 minutes.

Finished product

I cooked it along side my wife’s chicken pot pie leftovers from the day before.

Chicken pot pie on a smoker brings it to the next level.

Newman’s Own vs Emma’s

We selected these two frozen pizzas to test out based on two things-

Newman’s Own frozen pizza gets close to the highest mark from David Portnoy in Barstool Sports Pizza reviews

Emma’s pizza looks just like Cape Cod frozen pizza which we love but Cape Cod frozen pizza is $6.99 and Emma’s is $3.99 at Market Basket

We actually like the Cape Cod pizzas and they’re the best frozen pizza we’ve had to date.

After cooking them according to the instructions provided on the box I concluded the both sucked and Cape Cod frozen pizza was far superior.

New Years Day, 2021

Took a walk on New Years Day with some family members outside only and had a fun day.  I love that my daughter’s dog Freddy wanted to me in the photo.

Remember when Adventureman came to Gloucester to finish his round-the-country run to raise money for children’s hospitals? That seems like an age ago, but he and his wife Anna announced today that they have become new parents to a baby girl Storm! Congratulations to Jamie and Anna. Welcome to the world Storm! We are very happy for you here in your sister city Gloucester MA.

We decided to have the baby at home by the Christmas tree. Here’s a video of how that panned out, I’m not sure I’m the cool and calm type during labour.From a Dad’s perspective (did I just say ‘Dad’, wahooooooo!) it was honestly one of the most magical experiences that I’ve ever been a part of.Huge thank you to our doula, Alex from The Original Birth Connection and our other midwife Alex from the nhs.uk.And it goes without saying, I have so much love for my partner in crime, Anna McNuff after watching her bring a human into the world.We’d like to introduce you to our little girl, STORM! 😍

I am among those who actively avoided those endless year recaps on the news stations this year. I did not need 2020 recapped in all it’s “highlights”, though I acknowledge the importance of remembering the past. As we collectively look forward to what the year will bring, here’s a little reminder of some of our local friends we can expect to see again soon.
