CALLING ALL PHOTOGRAPHERS!
The Rockport Rotary Club will be producing a 2022 raffle calendar as their fundraiser this year and is requesting submissions for the twelve monthly featured photos. The photos should be taken in Rockport and emphasize qualities that make Rockport a special place to live, work and visit in every season of the year.
The contest will run from February 20, 2021 to March 15, 2021 at 12:00 PM. Please submit high quality digital photos to photos@rockportrotary.org and include your name, mailing address, email address and phone number. A stipend of $50 will be sent to each successful applicant.

We saw these beautiful swans last week in Medford. One appeared to be trying to camouflage by stepping into the snow to hide. The younger swans were feasting on berries from the shoreline bushes. I hadn’t seen them eat anything except seaweed before. They were just going about their business as if the eagle wasn’t right on the other side of the dam showing off his ice fishing skills for us. It’s a great spot for bird watchers.

Gloucester, Mass., February 18, 2021 – After a long winter in isolation, the Gloucester community will come to life through new public art projects that seek to promote hope, connection, and diversity. Agri-Culture, headed by nonprofit organization Backyard Growers in collaboration with Gloucester Housing Authority and Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce, is just one of six new collaborative public art and creative placemaking projects being funded by Essex County Community Foundation’s Creative County Initiative (CCI). Launched in 2018 through a partnership with the Barr Foundation, CCI is designed to elevate arts, culture and the creative economy in Essex County.
