2021 Northeastern Conference Lynch Championship Winner, and — I believe — the GHS regular-season record.
Pentucket plays East Boston today. The winning team will travel to Gloucester Saturday. I will update Gloucester’s opponent for the home game Saturday asap.
Gloucester has a real opportunity to make history this season as no Gloucester soccer team has ever made it out of the second round of the tournament (formerly known as the sectional quarterfinals).

Earlier this week, Danny helped at scrimmage vs. Marblehead ahead of the conference tournament. Both teams also practiced penalty shots.

In one direction, the seaweed was tide rolled and divided, like dough readied by a bench scraper.
Heading from the Gloucester end of Long Beach to Cape Hedge, thin seaweed trails on the dry sand led to thick seaweed sushi rolls, buffet meadows for the gulls. Walking parallel to these seaweed lines brought artist Andy Goldsworthy to mind.

There’s something special about the look of barns especially in the height of fall color. This very handsome specimen seems to embrace the autumn sunshine. And, right across the street, these turkeys seemed to be a little bit camouflaged even though they were sitting on the stone wall oblivious to the fact that Thanksgiving will be upon us soon! Classic New England fall afternoon!

Given the recent weather we have had on Cape Ann, I thought it would be an appropriate time to discuss some of the things you can look for around your home. Whenever an unusually powerful storm comes through it’s a great time to check areas you may not normally pay attention to and make sure no repairs are needed. Here are some general areas to focus on.
Roofing – It’s not often you spend a few minutes really looking at your roof. You should check roof shingles, flashings, skylights and pay particular attention to where roofing starts, stops, and changes directions. Many roofs, even newer roofs are installed in a way where shingles do not properly adhere to one another or even lift making them very…

– YLSH, a not-for-profit organization raises 330,000 to begin build; fundraising remains ongoing to complete rink –
GLOUCESTER, MASSACHUSETTS – November 3rd, 2021 – Young Legends Street Hockey (YLSH), a non-profit street hockey organization dedicated to creating a competitive and fun hockey atmosphere that improves a player’s athletic ability and self-esteem on and off the rink, today announced the launch of the first-ever planned street hockey rink in Gloucester, Massachusetts.
“We are thrilled to be launching construction of the first-ever street hockey rink in Gloucester,” said Carl Ellis IV, President and Founder of YLSH. “This rink underscores our commitment to providing a safe and exciting environment for young kids to play street hockey.”
YLSH started in 2004 and has been successfully running its league every summer for over 18 years. Comprised of regular season games, mini-camps, and skills sessions, it is the leading and only street hockey league on the North Shore. The organization has evolved and now has Fall Skill Development Programs for youth players and a Chipmunk Learn to Play Hockey for 4-6 year olds. Young Legends has also created travel street hockey teams for both youth athletes and adults, both of which have competed in National Tournaments.
Carl also stated, “We would not be where we are today without the players, coaches, parents, Gloucester City Council, the Mayor’s office, DPW, and our generous donors. I am equally humbled and eager to build this rink as rapidly as possible so that kids have a place to play for many years to come.”
Key investors for the project include the Community Preservation Committee, J. Linzee Coolidge of the Dusky Fund, Bank Gloucester, the Gloucester Fisherman Athletic Association, and the Boston Bruins Foundation. There are many others that have provided donations that will not go unnoticed when the rink is completed.
A Ceremony in recognition of the beginning of construction for the rink will take place on Saturday, November 30th at 12:00 pm ET. All are welcome to attend.
