Topsfield Fair!

You can eat healthy (well, relatively) at the Fairgrounds! We had a butternut squash cranberry bisque that was heavenly and this local entrepreneur mac shack serving up gourmet mac-n-cheese with vermont cheddar was awesome. Roasted nuts and hot apple cider donuts! YUM! πŸ™‚

Slideshow including my awesome 8-year-old cellphone shots of the Ewok bunny, a big beautiful bull, baby cow, baby piggildy-wiggildies, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police saying sayonara, sand-sculpture, bees and beeswax candle-making (a deal for a $1) by the Essex County Beekeepers Association, miniature trains including a mini Topsfield Fair, miniature farm town, and an elephant.

Thursday Night Blues Jam @ The Rhumb Line to Host Evan Goodrough

From Mr. Dave Sags,

MCI Concord is proud to present the triumphant return of Mr. Evan Goodreau to our stage this week. One of our most popular performers, Mr. Gee is a fine glitarist, gunslinger , and frontman. Knows how to make it happen. We’ll all know when we get there. He’ll be rubbin’ our noses in all kinds of genres, and we’ll be scramblin’ to keep up with him. Have mercy.
Keith Lockhart is lighting the fuse as we shoot Mr. Jim Gwin, Fred’s brother, out of the cannon of love and intoΒ  the maw of the beast. Hopefully, he’ll land on his drum kit, where he belongs. As usual, Mr. Greg T. will be on bedspring gootar, and I’ll be radioing in coordinates, just to see what happens. A flight of fancy; you should alight and see.

WhereZat? Winner!

Micah Dean identified the common thread of the photos from yesterday’s contest as scenes from along Washington St. On Sunday I took pictures starting at the corner by the Blackburn and continued to the Rockport town line. It took a few hours, and I saw more than I had ever noticed in the past. Very cool!

Spearze identified the scenes in his response:Β  “the first..blessed mother is at my former Aunt Vinnce house on Washington st across from Blackburn…second is Sclafani bakery. next is Ed mini mart. scroo kitchen, riverdale mills, bay view cemetry, plum cove….all in washington st.” Thanks, Eric!

And Congratulations, Micah!! You can pick up your t-shirt at Joey’s.

Here’s a slideshow of all the shots from my Washington St. trek- And yes, I know- the last few photos were taken in Folly Cove!Β

Is this a SCAM?

I put an item on Craig List with a photo a couple of days ago and got this email after his initial inquiry-

“Thanks for the prompt response, I am quite satisfied with the condition .I am also interested and I will like to make an instant purchase, so kindly end the advert on Craigslist, I do not mind adding an extra $25 for you to close the advert on craigslist so that I can be rest assured that I am the prospective buyer, I would have loved to come take a look but I am a very busy man I am very sure you understand. I will also want you to know that I will be paying via Certified Check, and it will be sent to you via courier service due to the distance. You don’t need to bother about the shipment, as that has been taken care of…… So I will need you to provide me with the following information to facilitate the mailing of the check.

1. Full Name on the check
2. Address where payment will be sent to not p.o.box (because my courier service does not deliver to p.o box)
3. City
4. State
5. Zip Code
6. Phone Number

Once again, I will like to remind you that you will not be responsible for shipping as I will have my mover come over as soon as you have cashed the check .

Have a nice day.”

Think it’s a scam of some sort? Or just some old eccentric?
