Critical Question Of The Day- If you are talking to someone on the phone, do you hang up if you have to poop?

Maybe this should be a two part CQOTD

If you are speaking to someone on the phone and have to take a poop, do you tell them you’ll call them back and then squeeze one out or do you just let it fly while chatting away on the can?

Second part:

What about peeing?  Does it make a difference?

People have been asking me to use the blog for scientific research and I’m not sure how much more scientific we could get than a GMG poll.

Enjoying Cape Cod

Continuing my vacation… Visiting a friend on Cape Cod!

Lovely beach!

The prettiest house on this beach, in my opinion, is this one:

There’s nothing like the feeling of the waves tickling your toes!

A perfect beach day!

Cape Cod is a lovely place to visit! But I’m still glad I live on “the other cape”…  When I get back to Gloucester I am going to have to do a beach walk and get some nice photos!

Due to the Popularity of The “Who makes the best chocolate chip cookie” Post Yesterday- It’s Competition Time Baby!

Yesterday the question was posed-

Critical Question Of The Day- Who Makes The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies You’ve Ever Eaten? Go.

Posted on August 6, 2013 by

Everyone has their favorites,  some like more chewy, some more crunchy.

Does this call for a chocolate chip cookie competition mug up or does this call for a chocolate chip cookie competition mug up! This could be huge!!!!

For the record I’ll take soft baked over crunchy chocolate chip cookies 100 times out of a 100.  What kind of lunatic prefers hard chocolate chip cookies over soft ones?  Only insane maniacs.  Seriously.  Can’t trust those hard chocolate chip cookie lovers is what I always say.

Here’s what I’m thinking-
Contestants bake enough for every one to try. We place numbers in front of each tray of cookies. People get a slip of paper or ticket to place a vote and slip it into a solo cup behind each contestant’s tray.
We tally up the votes, drink some coffee, and enjoy each other’s company yet again.
Who’s with me?

Dear Joey,

My wonderful hound is still missing. Every day that goes by i fear

his foot may be caught in a pile of rocks and coyotes

may be tearing him apart. I’ve walked in the woods but i don’t know

them that well.

GMG followers who know the woods of Dogtown,

Quarry areas, and Cape Ann, I need you !! As a writer/photographer,

I’ll document our search and collect your stories of the woods

if you have any. Please come walk in the woods and help me find this

amazing and much loved dog. Know the best maps of the woods ? Tell me.

You love the woods, and so does my hound. Let’s make this a woods-lovers and dog-lovers success story !

Thanks, everyone.

I Commend the Gloucester Daily Times For Decision To Make Commentors Use Real Names

It was becoming a real cesspool over there.  Glad the paper of record for GTown took steps to avoid the ugliness that came with anonymous online posting.

Enjoying vacation in New York State

I’m sorry to have missed the  Gloucester Street Bazaar, but I’m off having a grand old time with family in New York State.  This is part 1 of a 2-part vacation, so I won’t be back with new Gloucester photos for a few days.  In the meantime, here is a taste of a Hutchings’ (my mother’s side of the family) get-together!

Beautiful landscapes:

Family photos:

My father and I
My cool cousin Kevin and I

Going over vintage family photos:

My grandma with her cat

And of course I’m doing origami, but I already posted some of those photos… and more will be showing up soon!

Schooner Adventure

Katherine Richmond submits-

Hi Joey, Here’s a couple of picks of my little dog Greta ( long haired mini dachshund 8 lbs and 12 years old) I’m a local painting contractor who has decided to volunteer my painting skills to the Schooner Adventure. From time to time Greta comes with me to the Adventure. On this sunny hot day she sought out shelter from the sun in a space on the bow near to me while I painted. She enjoyed the view of the harbor out the hawser hole and fit in it standing up. I took these shots with my iPhone. I thought people would enjoy seeing the unique photos of Greta. In addition FYI the crew of the Amsted is helping the crew of the Adventure get her all rigged up. The sails will be up in a couple of days and will go for a Test sail this week possibly! The rigging is a big event. There is a guy named mike who has been volunteering for 14 years! He would be a good interview. Bill Holmes is in charge and a good contact for the goings on in the next few days of rare events of rigging a schooner.
Thanks best regards
Katherine Richmond
