Thursday night blues Jam with Dave Sags @ The Rhumb Line to host Orville Giddings.

10/28/2010

Thane of  Caudor Productions is proud to present the ineffable return of Mr. Orville Giddings to our stage this Thursday. A tough guy to catch, Mr. G. has just returned from Valhalla, where he has been immersing himself in a crash course in ebonics. Emperor of Ipswich, gootarist ne plus ultra, vocalist who can twirl his tonsils on his own steep lyrics, songster, writer and gin-terpreter of the great Armenian Songbook, And did I mention the biggest guffaw in Gloucester?? That’s him. We love this guy!
We’re callin’ in the heavy artillery in the form of Mr. Stev-ee Chagarris, drumbler along the Mohawk and sect cymbol. He’s familiar with O.G.: he won’t need the gym this week. Of course, Mr. Greg T. and myself will be there, too. A fine night to dance.
And, on Sunday,  I’ll be up at Glenn’s Cool Bar and Reststop over the bridge in Npbt. Imagine that. No-one from Glou. has ever shown up…and you don’t know what you’re missing. I’ll be plucking the big sticky bass to the groovy beat with the Justin Quinn Band. I’ve had J and the boys down here many times, and everybody just loves it. So, 6 to 9 Sunday, might be Halloween time there, mebbe I’ll wear my priest shirt with the white choler.Bring your own cross and garland of garlic.

This Friday @ The Rhumb Line ~ You will not want to miss Noe Socha

It will be a night of bluesy/jazz instrumentals and soulful blues.
The musicianship is incredible.

Noe Socha, 19yr. old blind guitarist, from Italy. Just started at Berklee this Fall. Very Unique playing style.

This is just a sample of what is going to happen. Along with the other musicians. Eric Reardon, Chris Noyes, Rory Walsh and Brian O’Conner. It appears to be one extraordinary night coming up.

John Jerome tonight @ The Topside

Hey everyone,

I have some great entertainment lined up tonight! Also, come see Elizabeth and Ryan battle it out for Best Friday nightBartender…

Tonight: 9:00pm John Jerome:
Gloucester’s own John Jerome has been one of the best acts across Gloucester hands down! He is well known for his talents playing along with his brother and has many reasons to be so well thought of. He has played at pretty much every local spot that plays music in town and many more. He plays a nice mix of cover songs and some of his own original music and can wow you with either.

Bandit Kings ~ Playing at the Plough and Stars Tonight

The Bandit Kings are making their way over the bridge once again. Off to the Plough and Stars a quaint little pub in Cambridge http://www.ploughandstars.com/directions.html Going along with them will be The Boyfriends and The Inge Berge Band, all Gloucester musicians. This proves to be very good line up and anyone that has seen them all before will vouch for this. So, if you feel like venturing out and trying some place new, you will certainly be entertained. I suggest you go early because it is a small venue. 10:00pm ~ 6:00 dollar cover

Mike O’Connell Joins Dave Sags Blues Party ~ Thursday Night @ The Rhumb Line.

From Mr. Dave Sags himself,

This Thursday nite we welcome back houngan and kielbasa king, Mr. Mike O’Connell. Mikey O is Gloucester’s own well known louche glitarist and creamy vocalist, smooth like baby’s feet. He’ll be dipping his whiskers into the trough of rhythm and blooze, and making fun of my shoes all night long. He’ll be giving beartrap lessons, too, outside, at break time. You’ll need to eat your spinach, just to keep up with him.
Cringing behind him will be Rockport’s answer to Ginger Baker, Mr. Greg Dann, on the skins. Always a pleasure. Of course, Mr. Greg T. and myself will be there, too. You won’t wanna eat after you  hear this.
Now Friday, something completely different. I’ll be at the Lyceum in Salem, thrashing around with some jazz heads and having a ball. I don’t know the name of the band, but they’re some pretty cool kats and kittens. We’ll be twisting the arm of the great american songbook until it screams “uncle”. They might even let me sing, if things are slow. If you’re a divorcee of an indeterminate age, you’ll fit right in this joint. Lotta wine gets spilled. I’m signing off now, before I get into trouble.

~

This the closest to what Mike will look like with all of his hair cut off. Not to bad heh?
