Lowell Peabody Represents In Greenville SC

Chatting with new friend Joel Robert Poinsett who introduced to the US the flower now known as the Poinsettia. Seems he brought it back from Mexico when he served as the Minister to Mexico in 1825. Seemed to think there was little hope of my ever keeping a Poinsettia alive…

Home town baseball team is the Greenville Drive, part of the Red Sox organization. Pictured is what I could see of their “Green Monster” in left field at Fluor Filed.

Who knew GMG would be in Auburn ME for the festival!! Actually, I forgot my GMG sticker and hat so I could truly represent from the festival, but thought this might work instead!

Hail to the Chief!

Fred Bodin Submits-

Chief Samuel George, of the Bear Clan of the Cayuga Nation, represents with his wife Debbie. They live in Cuba, NY, and will be vacationing here on Cape Ann next summer. I guess this is the first Chief and head of state to visit my gallery. Perhaps he’s also the first American Indian Chief to own the sticka.  All Hail to the Chief!

image

In talking to the Chief, I could tell that this was a wise and gracious man. He wanted to know about Dogtown’s history and of local native Americans. I told him what I learned from Elyssa East’s book, www.dogtownthebook.com/elyssaeast, and how the Dogtown residents left because of raids during the French and Indian War. Then I explained how Dogtown is now: Big, wildly overgrown with few marked trails thru the jungle, and is very easy to get lost in. Chief Samuel George softly remarked: “That’s good.” Makes you think…

Who Wants To Guess Who’s Underneath This GMG Kayak?

Kim Bertolino Submits-

While taking pictures of my son and friends at Lanes cove i encountered a gentleman that asked if i would take a photo of the bottom of his kayak and send it to you…He said you would know who he was.

John Nasser Studding Out In Times Square

Representing in Times Square recently with my new GMG hat.

Times Square

See that NYPD Cruiser?  That is John’s personal police detail to keep the lady folk from attacking him when donning the cap.

I can’t explain the phenomenon, just happens when dude’s put it on.  Who am I to question the powers the cap possesses?

Lady killers, monster fishermen, they all know the swagger that comes once it hits your noggin.  Straight swagger homie!

Kenny MacCarthy and Ron Gelineau Represent! (wearin the stonewashed cap)

Dear Joey,
My oldest childhood friend, Ron Gelineau, (we were tossed from CCD class for chuckling at “the burning bush”)
is in town on vacation with his wife Melanie and daughter Regan. You may have seen
him hanging around your parking lot ’cause he’s a die hard GMG fan and Gloucester resident wannabe.
We were at Capt’ Carlo’s for dinner last night (fab eats, BTW! Ask for “Carl”. Great waiter!) when I told him about the “new hats”. Well, he had to have one. So, I whipped mine outta’ the trunk for a photo op. Unfortunately, we couldn’t do a group
photo as we only have 1 hat. So, please order more hats so Ronny and I can both have one. (Ronny’s got mine!)
Best,
Kenny MacCarthy

Ryan Russell Represents! In Minnesota (Don’t Ya Know)

download3

Hey Joey,

On a recent road trip (totaling over 3,300 miles round trip) to Minnesota, I thought I could shed some light on this little known fact about a widely know river.

The Mississippi River starts from Lake Itasca, MN when it simply flows over a merely 12 foot wide rock barrier to my left in the picture. From there, “THE MIGHTY MISSISSIPPI BEGINS TO FLOW ON IT’S WINDING WAY 2552 MILES TO THE GULF OF MEXICO.”

GMG Hat Represents! at the NEHSA Summer Sports Clinic

Lowell Peabody submits-

Joey,

I spent 4 days in New Hampshire with New England Handicapped Sports Association, a great bunch of Veterans and all the volunteers which made the event run smoothly.  The Vets were amazing in their intensity, encouragement and support for each other  …and partying!  Emotions run high for team wins but also for individual accomplishments regardless of finishing order.  It’s a wonderful fellowship that draws more veterans each year for competition in kayaking, bicycling, shooting, waterskiing, geo-caching and fly fishing. I was asked to help photograph the event and I was blown away with all I saw, heard and learned.  Given the chance I will be back in a heartbeat!  The GMG Baseball hat was a hit and there may be a few new subscribers!
