Something I Haven’t Seen since 1989 At The Dock- A New Shipment of wooden (read Not Wire) Lobster Traps @CaptJoeLobster #GloucesterMA

I’d say once a month someone calls the dock looking for an old used wood lobster trap they can put a piece of glass on and turn into a decorative coffee table.  The answer for as long as I can remember has been “The fishermen haven’t used wooden traps forever.”

Now with this load of wooden lobster traps it’s the first one I‘ve seen in a whole long time.

Griffin Lobster Boat ©Kim Smith 2015Busy days at Captain Joe and Sons, nevertheless Joey and Toby are cooking up a storm at lunchtime. Today Joey made the most deliciously tender roasted split chicken halves with grilled onions and sweet buttered corn and it was F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S!

Lily and Patty ©Kim Smith 2015While there visiting, friends and East Gloucester neighbors Lily and Patty stopped in to see Captain Randy of the Griffin lobster boat. Love our Neighbors!

TheIsland From Lukas Struppe and Matilda Grow

Lukas writes-
Hello Joey,

My name is Lukas Struppe and I am a student at Gloucester High School. My friend, Matilda Grow, have produced a short documentary on the influence the waterfront has on Gloucester’s culture. We were wondering if you could share it to the rest of Gloucester for us through your website. If you could let me know of your decision of posting it or not that would be great, but I will send the link to you anyway right now.

Thank you for your time and consideration!

Sincerely,

Lukas Struppe
