Sam Hartson, and his crew of local entrepreneurs, are documenting the Fiesta.
They have been working with the Fiesta Committee, conducting interviews, photography and video taping this years Fiesta. I spoke to Sam last night and he mentioned that he was inspired by our own Joey to take on this project. Watch out Ron Howard.

Joe and Memory have done a fantastic job, and I looking forward to sitting at the piano, of course on the other side of the keys.
You many even see some of Memory’s art hanging on the walls.
I attended the Novena last night, it is a beautiful sight.

I ventured inside the compound with all the pirates, performing and allowing any photo opportunity with all kids and even some grown ups. A fun adventure, enjoy the video, and music by the Bawdy Buccaneers, also performing at The Pirate Faire.
Performances will continue at Stage Fort Park June 26th-27th

The Angel from the Sea a familiar sight on Main Street when you pass Art Haven has been retired. A contest is being held July 9th at Art Haven for a new logo.
David Brooks scrapped her off the window and I believe there was a tear in his eye during the last scrape; she has served Art Haven for the past 2 years.
Several people came by and did their part in helping David.

The church’s 31 bells were cast by the Taylor Bell Foundry in England and installed during the summer of 1922, and restored by Meek, Wilson & Company.
Bill Meeks was on site directing the operations, photo of him strapping a Bell.
Each bell has a Saints Name in Portuguese, and a name of a person. There is a story for each bell, I am sure. The first Reverend, a Captain, and A. Piatt Andrew are the names on the bells shown. On A. Piatt Andrew’s bell is the inscription in Portuguese “The Heart of Jesus”, as he was instrumental in getting the bells brought to the church in 1922.
An elderly man stood watching them being re-installed, he said to me “I am so glad they are back, I thought I would never hear them ring again, but my prayers were answered.”

June 14th – the Gloucester Elks had a Flag Day ceremony, where they retired old flags.
On hand for the ceremony were the Elks leadership and honored guests. Senator Bruce Tarr, and State Rep Ann-Margaret Ferrante.
The High School color Guard and rifle team participated in the ceremonies
Middle School Essay winners read their essays, and six high school scholarships were awarded.

In the tradition of GoodMorningGloucester, of photography the food we eat, I present you my lunch at Sailor Stan’s in Rocky Neck. A simple lunch clam chowder and a tuna fish sandwich. The chowder was EXCELLENT, lots of clams, and a light broth, just the way I like it. The atmosphere and serve was great. I also met some lovely ladies who welcomed their picture taken, from Colorado, and some locals who also enjoy eating at Sailor Stan’s.
It was a great lunch eating and reading the latest Cape Ann Magazine’s Summer Guide.

The work has started, A quick walk through indicated the progress.
An environmental barrier in the water, the walk-thru has been removed; paint scraping has started in one room, and dismantling of old interior walls.
Some photos show the bright sunlight coming thru small holes in the walls and the roof.
