Beautiful summer morning at Magnolia Harbor

My View of Life on the Dock
Beautiful summer morning at Magnolia Harbor

Rocky Neck before the storm

Clouds over the high school

At the same time sun over the boulevard as the clouds were over the high school

Storm cloud coming right toward Rocky Neck

From East Main Street

This is my obsession. Need to get a swim in almost every day. The beach takes away all my anxiety and the stresses of the day.

Also how fun, there was a party of boaters having a Christmas in July party. Notice the Christmas tree and also they were playing Christmas Carols.

What we all need to do.

On Tuesday around 5:00 the skies cleared for only an hour or so but it was beautiful at Magnolia Beach

At Marshalls Farm Stand on Concord Street, Gloucester, MA 01930, you can get fresh veggies, fruit, baked goods and meat. They also have Alpacas, a peacock, horses, chickens, ducks and most recently Ben and Jerry, two Nubian Goats named Ben and Jerry. They are so cute.

Battle of Gloucester
Event Information is as follows:
Event: Battle of Gloucester (August 8, 1775)
Date/Time: Saturday August 11, 2018 9am to 1pm
Location: Gloucester Harbor, Pavilion Beach (Gloucester, MA)
Scenario: Authentic pinky schooners of the period will transport British troops into the harbor, troops will transfer to small boats and row into shore in two separate troop movements. The reenactment will be conducted in four parts.
Part 1: HMS Falcon with captured prize schooner following will chase fleeing schooner into Gloucester Harbor. Fleeing schooner will ground itself on Pavilion Beach and crew will abandon ship. HMS Falcon and prize schooner will anchor off Ten Pound Island. British Troops will row in small boats into Pavilion Beach to board and capture grounded schooner. Colonial militia troops will ambush British troops attempting to capture schooner from nearby fort (playground) at east end of beach.
Part 2: Capt. Linzee of HMS Falcon realizing his men have been ambushed, attempts a diversion to relieve pressure on his men by having Falcon cannonade the town of Gloucester from the harbor with the aim of setting the town on fire, allowing his men to escape the ambush and row back to the Falcon.
Part 3: With the failure of the cannon bombardment to set the town on fire, Linzee orders British troops with torches, to land in small boats on west end of Pavilion Beach near Stacey Boulevard to set fish flakes (stages) and buildings of the town on fire by torch. There will be a brief exchange of fire with Colonial militia who are lying in wait to ambush. British troops will then surrender.
Part 4: Crewmen of captured prize schooner will revolt and combine with impressed seamen of British prize crew and sail away. Canon volleys may be exchanged between vessels.

Gloucester resounds to the beat of Brazilian music at Gloucester Meetinghouse Summer Concert, July 27. The Somerville-based Brazilian band Os Forrozeiros will be delighting audiences at the Gloucester Meetinghouse Summer Concert on Friday, July 27, 6 – 9 pm, at the corner of Church and Middle Street.
The group began over ten years ago, using the beat of Brazilian Forro, to spread their love for the dance and music of their native country. Forro music began in northeastern Brazil. It embraces many different musical beats as well as dance styles. The Forrozeiros organization now includes a dance group, the Forrozeiros Dance Group, which has been together for the past two years, and practices in Somerville. The music and dance rhythms of this unique band will set your feet tapping and take you deep inside the culture of Brazil.
The concert is free. In the spirit of giving to the community, a spirit much celebrated by Os Forrozeiros, concert-goers are encouraged to make free-will donations to benefit Wellspring House. Founded in 1981 to provide shelter for homeless families, Wellspring House today
works to develop affordable housing, helps secure permanent homes for families, and provides education and job training for thousands of low-income adults. While walking Stacy Boulevard on Monday watching the fog roll in and out was so pretty. You could see the fog lifting over Magnolia and East Gloucester.
