Ruby ~ Pet of the Week!

Ruby ~ Pet of the Week!

Ruby

My name is Ruby and this could be your lucky day because I am  available for adoption!  Please stop by the Cape Ann Animal Aid so that we may discuss how fun your life will be with me in it!

I am a three-month-old female Lab/Hound mix; who is affectionate and playful.   I need a little training, but I am willing to learn and I am very smart.   If you would like to see some photos of me, visit: CapeAnnAnimalAid.com or stop by our non-profit shelter located at 260 Main Street in Gloucester.

I am so excited about thinking about being adopted, I just can’t wait.  I know this is hard to believe, but I have siblings here who are just as cute as I am.   My sister is yelling at me right now saying she is cuter than I am, but I am pretending not to hear her.  Why don’t you come down and decide!

Burnham’s Field clean-up this Saturday

John McElhenny forwards-

Local cleaning company CleanPro has kindly offered to donate supplies and staff to erase graffiti. Ben’s Wallpaper & Paint of Gloucester has generously offered to donate paint for the backboards. Free coffee will be served.

Burnham’s Field across from St. Ann School is the largest green space in central Gloucester. There’s been a resurgence of pride in Burnham’s Field, including a 20-plot community garden created last summer. GoodMorningGloucester readers got to meet the gardeners in a GMG exclusive video serieshere.

Maritime Gloucester Pier To Be Named For Harriet Webster

Maritime Gloucester recently began the final stage of the restoration of the main pier. This project represents the culmination of a decade-long effort to upgrade our public waterfront access to Gloucester Harbor. We could not have accomplished this extraordinary task if not for the tireless efforts of our longtime executive director, Harriet Webster.

The pier will be named for Harriet in recognition of her many contributions to Maritime Gloucester.  Maritime Gloucester will host a ceremony dedicating the pier to Harriet and recognizing her public service to Gloucester on May 20, 2012 at 2:00 in the afternoon. We hope that you will be able to join us.

Sincerely,

The board and staff of Maritime Gloucester and Harriet’s Family

Sarah and Carol Cafasso Represent in Australia and New Zealand!

FOB Valerie Marino writes-

Hi Joey,
Sarah Cafasso is serving in the Peace Corps on a remote island in the Philippines. Her mom Carol arranged for them to meet in New Zealand and spend the holidays in Australia. They did not forget to bring "homie" with them! Sarah has one more year left in Southern Leyte, Hinundayen, Philippines, helping the community protect and utilize their fishing resources. Her vacation was much needed and well deserved. Here are a few shots with the GMG stickah! Thanks!

Mamie’s Muffin Tops Brings The Trash Talk To Bikini Speedo Dodgeball Calling Out Muffy White’s Hot Mess

Alicia DeWolfe Team Captain of Mamie’s Kitchen Muffin Tops Bikini Speedo Dodgeball Has Some harsh words For Muffy White Who Gets No Respect From Alicia-

Alicia writes-

Hey Joey!
You wanted us to do some trash talking but with a name like Muffy and the team called Hot Mess…Need I say more?

Just like Patches O’Houlian says "If you want to have dodgeball victory, you have to grab it by its haunches and you gotta hump it into submission!"
See you on the field!
Alicia
"Mamies Top Muffin"

Looks Like there will be no love lost between these two squads on the Dodgeball Court!

While at Mamie’s Kitchen yesterday for breakfast we were stopped by fans of GMG who had travelled up from Connecticut to go to Mamie’s Kitchen based on my recommendation.  I was heading for the can and these three lovely ladies stopped me and asked ‘Are you Joey?”  After replying yes, they told me how they loved the blog and were at mamie’s because of me.  Sweet!  I lost the piece of paper with their names on it Sad smile

You know how I love to spread the love to people who support our fun events so here’s a couple pictures from Mamie’s Kitchen killer breakfast joint across from St Ann’s Church and behind where Savour Wine and Cheese and Beach Gourmet Catering will be.

There is also controversy with Alicia’s husband reportedly abandoning Alicia in favor of the Cross Fit Cape Ann Buns and Guns Squad.  Betrayal!  If you don’t think we’re going to align these teams up to face each other you’re crazy. That ought to make for an awkward Sunday dinner table!
