GLOUCESTER, MA – The City of Gloucester’s Harbortown Cultural District invites residents and visitors to experience From the Deep: A Downtown Gloucester Arts Party on Saturday, November 7, from 11AM to 5PM. This free celebration was made possible by funding from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and will bring artists, cultural organizations, local businesses and community members together to explore Gloucester’s creative community.
Following its successful debut in May 2026, which welcomed more than 500 attendees and featured over 30 free cultural offerings from 45 artists and cultural organizations, From the Deep returns with more than 25 unique cultural experiences taking place at venues throughout downtown Gloucester. Attendees can explore art installations, watch live demonstrations, participate in hands-on creative activities, enjoy performances and discover the diverse cultural offerings found throughout the Harbortown Cultural District.
Highlights include “Building the Town,” an interactive art installation with artist Bruce Orr, and “From the Deep: Gloucester in Motion – Live Painting and Art Giveaway” with Jennifer Loiselle, both at Kyrouz Auditorium in Gloucester City Hall. Families can participate in a free sea-themed children’s sketching contest at Good Morning Gloucester, while visitors can join a walking tour of the last weekend of Imagining Gloucester’s Future window murals on Main Street, led by the City’s Arts, Culture, and Events Coordinator Miranda Aisling Hynes.
The event is free and open to the public. Activities take place at participating cultural and business locations throughout downtown Gloucester. Visitors can find the event schedule and additional information at harbortownculturaldistrict.org/from-the-deep.
