Since we won’t be podcasting this morning, I thought some of you might like to see what it looks like behind the scenes when we take the podcast on the road. These are from recent livestreams at the Beauport, Passports and Mile Marker One. Each sight has its own setup and lighting requirements and its own personality. We had a great time at each of these and would like to especially thank Ray and Destiny (Beauport); Eric (Passports) and Patrick (Mile Marker One). Chris McCarthy ’85 & Charleen Ellis ’85 – Chris and Charleen met in 1984 under the library overhang at Fenwick. They got married October 1990 and have had the best 37 years of their lives together!

My first 2022 lunch on the deck today. Our thaw will be short lived with snow predicted tomorrow, but everyone is enjoying it.

On Tuesday, February 15th at 4 p.m. on Zoom, the Creation Care Team of the Annisquam Village Church will present local horticulturist Nick Anderson.  He will be speaking on “Making Meadows & Listening to the Land: Unleashing Ecological Productivity in Landscapes is Faster, Easier and Cheaper Than We Think.”

Nick Anderson studied horticulture at Brooklyn Botanic Garden and worked for years as a gardener and restoration practitioner for New York City Parks, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Riverside Park and for private clients. He specializes in plant community based horticulture using regionally native plant species. Nick now resides on Cape Ann where he works with private clients.

Anderson’s presentation is part of the church’s “For Nature” initiative, whose mission is to take action to create ever more habitable natural spaces for plant and animal life to thrive. The church has created a “Nature Pledge” to invite the community to take specific steps.

We stopped by the Happy Humpback in Magnolia to have breakfast for lunch (thanks for that idea Jess!) It was very nice to see locals stopping by and especially another restaurant owner in support of local business. Great to see you Nick from Bravo! Another winning meal! Jim had the Good Harbor sandwich and I had a waffle along with a yummy lemon bread treat! Hope to see you there soon!
