Annisquam Arts & Crafts Show
These are some photos from last year’s show. If you enjoy quality arts and crafts shows (no mass produced stuff here), don’t miss the Annisquam Arts & Crafts Show. It has been going on for 27 years, and is chock full of lovely, high quality hand crafted items. Annisquam is beautiful and inviting in the Fall and this is a great opportunity to visit. The Annisquam Exchange located next door at 32 Leonard Street will also be open on Saturday from 10:00-4:00.

5th Annual Designer’s Lunch
The lobby and the entryway of the Boston Design Center were decorated with stunning and intoxicatingly fragrant floral arrangements created with gardenias, white roses, and Stephanotis floribunda.
Yesterday the Boston Design Center held its Fifth Annual Lunch Designer’s Lunch. The center was packed and abuzz with attendees eager to hear the guest speakers from New England Home Magazine’s editorial department. I had client work to accomplish while there and had to limit myself to one speaker. I was most interested in hearing Stacy Kunstel, the Home Editor for New England Home Magazine, speak on styling and photographing tips for interior scenes and she did not disappoint, sharing many great ideas and lots of before and after photos.

What? Another reason to cross the bridge? Yup — local music, food & fun in Boston this Sunday
Yesterday, we told you about local artists at Topsfield Fair and suggested that you go see them (see post here).
This weekend you’ve got another opportunity to see one of our local favorites, Satch Kerans, at the Boston Local Food Festival on Sunday. Satch is on The River Plug and Play Stage at 1:30pm (see complete festival entertainment schedule here). If you’ve never seen Satch, check out this video from the Songwriters in the Round series.
Before and after Satch’s set, you can catch the start and finish of the big, Boston version of Gloucester’s Seafood Throwdown (yup, these are the same people who produce the one at the Farmers Market) — and your boy, Peter Van Ness, will emcee once again.
Now for some evening excitement featuring 30 artists this weekend and your last chance to experience music aboard the Lannon in 2012 (see this post if you’re not sure what we’re talking about). See the complete list of live music in Gloucester and Cape Ann here.

“Unexpected”
The second play in the “Tragabigzanda Political Theatre Festival” was “Unexpected”, in which we see a family dealing with the drug overdose-induced death of one of its own. The part that struck me most was the imagined conversation between the deceased and his niece.

More photos of this and the other plays here.

Hi Joey,
I am teaming up with my friends at George’s Coffee Shop to promote Breast Cancer Awareness month and raise funds for the Breast Cancer 3 Day walk (60 miles for a CURE). I am selling Wine Lights and handmade awareness bracelets during the month of October. Dean and I have a friend, Peter Devereaux, who is battling this disease. Most of us know someone who has been impacted by breast cancer. All proceeds benefit breast cancer research and awareness through the Breast Cancer 3 Day walks.
It would be great if you could share this information on GMG! Stop by for a delicious breakfast and support a great cause this October!! And remember to check the girls this month!!
Thank you,
Liz Dooley
