And what a weekend it is! Ā First, there’s the Harbor Loop Concert Series Finale TONIGHT. Ā You simply cannot miss this extraordinary gathering of some of Gloucester’s best talent.
Tomorrow “our boy” (as Joey would say) Allen Estes interrupts his vacation to open for “our boy” Fly Amero and his touring band ORLEANS at North Shore Music Theatre. Ā Now, don’t be fooled. Ā Just because you can’t get a VIP seat (they’re sold out) doesn’t mean you can’t get a great seat! Here’s a trick to using their ticketing website:
1)Ā Choose “Best Available” where it says “Select Price Level”
2)Ā Put the number of seats you want in the line that says Regular underĀ Ticket Type (see example, below).

Newly recuperating fromĀ bear trap removal surgery, he’ll be hobbling in this thursday to regale you with his awesome originals and bluesy renditions of classic r&b. Moreover, Mr. Steve Sadler,string iconoclast,vocalist, and slide master will be along for the ride. Worse, one of our fave drummblers, Mr. Forrest “Frosty” Padgett, will be orchestrating the Heimlich maneuver to the boogy beat. I’ll be there, too, holding on to the stick bass for dear life. A singer, songwriter, storyteller and amazing guitarist, his acoustic folk style will appeal to a wide audience. His lyrics are honest and thoughtful. With 10+ CDs to his recording credit and a new one on its way, Bob has been a highly regarded musician in the industry for many years. Be Careful Kayaking Near Seals DonnaĀ š
A great white shark (Carcharodon carcharias) feeds on a grey seal off the south tip of Monomoy Island, Chatham, MA on August 22, 2012. Shark was easily 15′ long and was previously tagged by Dr. Greg Skomal of the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries.
If you are a cheese lover, you really should stop by The Cave. Ā You can taste before you buy, so you can find just the right kind of cheese for whatever recipe or occasion you are planning. Ā They also offer wine and cheese tastings on Thursday nights, 5-7PM (they are announced on their Facebook page).
I stopped by several days ago, looking for something not too bland, but not too sharp; something with character, but not overwhelming. Ā I particularly enjoy cheese with soup – either on the side with crackers, or diced or grated into the soup itself. Ā (Some cheeses, especially aged cheeses, are a source of glutamate, which gives the “umami” flavor to things, which I like very much). Ā After trying a couple of options that Laura suggested, I settled on Dubliner cheddar.
As it turns out, I haven’t had soup since I bought this cheese, so last night I opted to try the it with some multi-grain Wheat Thins and Sauvignon Blanc. Ā It really worked!
I mean, wow! I could have polished off all the cheese in one sitting, but I held back, because I really want to try it with soup.
So, if you are looking for the perfect cheese for your palate, let Laura help you find it. Ā She also sells wine and various artisanal marmalades and spreads at The Cave, so she can undoubtedly help you find the perfect pairing.

Here’s the thing about the guys that did this video.Ā They obviously had an agenda that they wanted to associate anything they could with Global warming.
Maybe Geno really felt this way but I’m not sure how you can extrapolate one year where we have an abnormally mildĀ winter and spring with a trend.Ā Because how would you explain winter before last when there was so much cold and snow we were running out of places to put it.Ā We don’t talk about the extreme colds I guess because that wouldn’t fit in with their piece.

Hi Joey,
We were catching jelly fish Sunday and found this little creature swimming near the surface of the water. It’s some sort of crab larvae, and the strangest thing about it was the way it swam. It used its tail like a lobster does, but it swam pretty quickly in a forward direction – lobster use their tail to swim backward. Another behavior we noted was that it would roll itself into a ball and sink when it perceived a threat – it looked and felt just like a little pebble.
B studied this creature for most of the day, and encouraged me to share it. The finger in the photo is Bās and itās only about 3/8ā wide.
