Here is an excerpt-

I was reading a fascinating article in NorthShore Life Magazine about the blog, “Good Morning, Gloucester” (An allusion obviously to ‘Good Morning, Vietnam’)     Contrary to its insinuation, this site is very exciting and upbeat.      I mean, Gloucester does nothing for me.     It’s home to a dying industry.    It’s infrastructure is deplorable and sagging, and it will never be a ‘Walking Town’.     But it’s ugly buildings contrasts sharply with its breathtaking harbor and drop-dead beaches.     And it has ROCKS!      Along with Rockport, you’ll never hear the US Corps of Engineers trying to save these shores.  (Which only makes me more green with envy.)

  1. What is he talking about – ugly buildings and sagging infrastructure?! I used to live in Newburyport. Gloucester has so much more going for it.

  3. Wow, this poor soul is negaaaaatiiiiiveee. Not a walking town? Good Morning Vietnam? I think a sagging infrastructure is a far cry from the movie that line came from…. What about Good Morning America? Ever hear of that “little known” TV show?Life isn’t perfect or pretty it is an ongoing process…our town is the real deal. We didn’t choose to “kill” the fishing industry, so while we try and educate the country about the death of that industry we are rebuilding the infrastructure (check out Essex Ave.) and searching for a way to continue to honor the beauty of our location and the diversity of the people who are attracted to it.
