I just stopped in Local Colors today to do some Christmas shopping and I saw Kathy’s work:) I was very impressed and I loved the mini painting. I am going to buy one for a yankee swap gift for my work party!

Hi, Joey! I love GMG ( it has been my connection to Gloucester now for many months) and the ‘shop local’ feature you added to support the G-town business community. I have watched all these videos to date and you are to be commended. In fact, when I watched these interviews, I felt like I was right there shopping in town on Main Street, despite the fact that I live in California! It was very nostalgic. However, if I may make some suggestions: When you talk to the shopkeepers, let them do more of the talking about their shop and items. You didn’t allow Kathy Gentile give very much of a sales pitch for her shop. And you could have videoed more of her paintings or other store merchandise–not just her in her shop, but in the other shops you visited as well by walking around the shop and panning with the camera to show the variety of gift merchandise they carry, even while doing an off camera talk, if they are too shy to chat. Adding that would make a better sales pitch for all the shop and store owner/managers. Again, my THANKS for all your efforts. Please tell Christine Orlando that I said hi. Have not seen her since our elementary school days. Sincerely, Cathy Frontiero Spiro–Paul’s cousin

Hi, Paulie!
Thanks for your prompt response to my ‘shop Gloucester’ video suggestions. I really didn’t think anyone was going to read what I wrote, never mind reply. Then I saw both your and Kathy Gentile’s comments (her family told her the same thing!) and I guessed that the constructive criticism I shared was conveyed by more than just me to GMG. So, Joey, stop being an attention hound and let the shopkeepers sell their wares, oh, and pan around the store with your camera to show more of their merchandise on the blog. Happy holidays, Cathy
P.S. Tell Felicia that I really enjoyed the video of her making the “cuccia” and happy Santa Lucia Day!

I certainly will share your appreciation for Felicia’s cuccia video.
I also have an idea for you Cathy. I think you ought to start a blog and in your spare time cart yourself downtown and videotape 40 plus merchants, edit the video, add titles, metatags, and descriptions, upload them over the course of 20 or so hours, post each one on local message boards to try to get the shop owners more exposure and instead of letting them merely highlight their top two items or so you should do full exposes on each stores every item they have. That should be good for 20-30 minutes with each merchant and that is after the ten minutes or so coaching them and getting them comfortable enough to speak on camera.
Yeah and that will multiply your video uploading time by about five times per video. Sure, no problem.
Get right on that and make sure you try to get everyone you can during the 35 minutes or so you have away from the job you work from 4:30AM til 6:30-8:30PM every day. No problem. I’ll get right on that.
Thanks for the constructive criticism.

After viewing the video, that I was anxiously waiting to see, I must say I didn’t get to say much (as my family so critically pointed out to me), but hey I thought I looked good – isn’t that what matters! LOL I just finished getting my hair done at the salon and stopped in to Local Colors to pick something up – when to my surprise Joey was right behind. The rest is history. Thanks Joey – any publicity is good publicity. The Shop Gloucester series has been great!!!

To be honest that broad in the shop that kept interrupting us threw me off my game.
