Winter Doldrum Inspiration Please

Sitting here at the dock Paulie Frontiero came up with an idea for a post asking our loyal and fantastic readership what exactly would you like to see covered in these pages?

What subjects interest you the most when you come to GMG?  Or is it a combination of the diverse nature of our offerings that brings you back day after day?

Do you love the sports, the fishing industry, the art, The community event listings, the food?

Please leave a comment and help to direct us down a path which leads us to grow with the site and our community.

Thanks for your support.  Without your comments and participation it is difficult for our team to discern which directions we should delve deeper into to make GMG the best it can be.

  1. The pictures (!), local art, local buiness (clothing, restaurants, etc.) coverage/updates/features and community events. GMG blog is a daily staple.

  2. I love the diversity, being able to get a feeling of what’s going on out there when I’m stuck in here with quick glimpses through photos and videos, getting a heads up on what’s happening that I can venture out to participate in or see, local people, local artists (including the cooks, of course), I like the udine section too . . .

Ideas: good places to sled, ice skate, or other winter activities, hidden spots or gems, neat boats in harbor interiors, blah blah blah . . .

Keep up the great job and thank you! 😉

  3. I have that bumper sticker on my car. Here in the cold beauty of northern Michigan, every evening,
Good Morning GLOUCESTER pops up in my email, and when I see the number of downloads I get all excited. Because I know there will be such an array of recipes, photos, store fronts, views of every kind of mood of the sky and sea, just people loving their community and wanting to share it with those of us far away or near. It whets the appetite of the mind, heart, soul and humor. This site was started I am sure with a need to share. A desire to put pride on a spot of the internet. Thank goodness a guy named Joey, ran with what has become an amazing ,wonderful cornucopia of pure enjoyment.
    I wouldn’t change a thing.

  4. Even though I live in Kansas City, I wouldn’t miss a day of GMG! It brings me closer to a place I adore, to July when I can visit, and to all that is great about your community. Would you ever consider doing local fishermen profiles? How they came into the industry, some of their most memorable moments at sea? Either way, you provide a great service and great entertainment! Thank you so much!

  6. I love everything about it! The variety of articles, photos, contests, food shots, video, everything is SPOT ON. (I understand about wanting to minimize the effort of having to link every photo by taking the glog approach. I am in support of that for you. If there were any way to keep the beautiful banner photo somewhere that would be ideal, since I think many of us love that photo and it’s become the ‘face’ of the site.) Keep on going, it so wonderful p thank you Joey and all of you!

  7. i’ve always loved the slightly irreverent, quirkly, sometimes snarkey sense of humor of the posts and comments. love watching joey’s family growing up, and getting to know peeps in the community that i wouldn’t know without this blog of yours!

now about the millionth…a peanut butter jelly time line-up on the dock? more appropriate might be a joey’s lobster roll time.

    best,
    deb.

  8. Dear GMG folks,
Thanks for all of your good energies in bringing us the blog, we love to see what is going on around town and love the humor.
The third rail is the politics of fishing, something you do not cover in your reporting. Would it be possible to interview the “players” involved and hear it straight from the horses mouth, so to speak? We have a rally coming up in DC next week, we don’t even know how or where to show our support.

  9. Well, I’ll have to say Joey, hope I don’t get in trouble now, I mostly love all the lobsta pictures & vids. I also love Paul’s pictures. I mean I also like to know what’s going on around town & especially what groups are playing when & where. And I love it when you show lobsta stuff for sale on the blog. Like the Christmas Silver Lobsta, I haven’t bought the bowl yet with the lobsta on it. So with me it’s mainly lobsta. GEEZ, how can I love them so much, think they are such a magnificent creature and at the same time eat as many as I do?…lol…

  10. I love it just the way it is, though it must be a tremendous amount of work to put together. I hope you’ll be able to keep at it without burning out.
