How many of you have relatives that still go down and get their loaf of Italian bread every morning?
My Grandma Rose (although I never called her Grandma Rose, it was always Grandma with the store) would take warm loaves of Italian bread, cut them flat in half, pour the good Italian olive oil on it and season it with salt and pepper. I’ll tell you what, I could eat a half a loaf, even when I was ten years old.

My cousin Kyle and I would go to Virgilios after rowing. Nothing like a warm loaf of Italian bread after a good hard row.

Hey Joey–A certain gentleman who shall remain nameless (he lives in Essex and owns a Marina) had been knows in his younger days to go to Virgililos to buy bread for his family for dinner but would have to buy two loaves as he ate one on the way home, complete with butter!
And Grandmother names–would have to be Mimi who made the Clamcakes!

I completely understand, whenever i go back to Mostar, Bosnia N Herzegovina the bread smells wonderful unlike anyother, what they do over there is cook it with olive oil but they season it with sugar, everything is always sweet down there I think its because they cook with lots of carrots and paprikas
