Sunday Morning Steeple

st-ann

I got up early again this morning and stopped down by Capt. Joe’s. It was about 7:00 and the sun, not as bright as yesterday, softly warmed the cove.

I absolutely love this time of day, especially on the weekends. And Spring is definitely on its way. The birds are extremely animated. Everywhere I go – sparrows, crows, gulls, woodpeckers, cardinals, chickadees, geese, buffleheads, ducks – a beautiful cacophony.

This was really flavorful. The best dish I’ve had at Lat 43.

I Love You Snoop Maddie Mad

When The Mrs was pregnant with Snoop Maddie Mad, The Bean (Eloise) was 22 months old just before she was born.

I remember thinking to myself that I had no idea how I would ever love another baby as much as The Bean and I felt sorry for the unborn baby in my wife’s belly.

Madeline while being completely different than The Bean in almost every way is just as loved, something I never thought possible before she was born.  Snoop Mad is crazy and is obviously missing the fear gene.  The Bean is a direction follower and semi neurotic like me and Snoop Maddie Mad is a complete maniac who acts first and thinks later.  There is no healthy dose of fear in her, lol.

John Smoltz At Spring Training

Would you look at that dome?   God bless any dude that can pitch in Major League Baseball at that age.  I’d pitch without my cap and blind the opposing batters with the reflection.

Bookshelf Books- What Are Yours?

Some people have book shelves and they feel the need to fill them up with stuff.

Sometimes they fill them up with stuff out of necessity because that is the only place to put their stuff.   Some people fill them up with stuff that is important to them and has meaning in their lives.  Sometimes they fill their shelves with art or some combination of all the above.

We’ve lived in our house for six years now and our book shelves are just starting to get filled with items that have meaning to us.

Among those things are a few books.  One of these books is one that I picked up at Dogtown Book Store.  It is a used Edward Hopper book with pictures of his work.  I’m a fan of Hopper and wish I could have gone to the show at The MFA a couple of summers ago but it was during the busy work season and the Mrs wasn’t too keen on going in at night.

Another is a book- Fiesta Throughout The Years .  I know that some people aren’t Fiesta Fans but I’m a HUGE FAN OF FIESTA.  For any of the rest of you that love the tradition of Fiesta, you can go down to Dogtown Bookstore or The Bookstore of Gloucester and pick up a copy to keep on your book shelf.

Do you have lots of books on your book shelves or just a few?

Which ones do you feel are special and make the cut to stay on the bookshelf instead of relegated to a drawer, the trash or banished up to the attic?

JJ Jinglenuts Health Scare Update

Got back from the vet. It seems JJ will be OK. He has a urinary tract infection. They took his blood and gave us some antibiotics that we need to give him twice a day. We also got a bill for $187 DOH!

Hey, the poor guy should be fine and that’s what matters.

Phew.

Fenway Park Model Made Out Of Legos

At City Of Palms Park this Fenway Park replica made of legos is on display.  It’s pretty damn cool.

They have Lego “master builders” who build these types of things for a living.  Imagine that.

Some Scary News- JJ Jinglenuts

The Longtime GMG readers have gotten to know JJ Jinglenuts our cat.

We picked up JJ at a shelter when we were having a difficult time conceiving children.  It had been a long many years and we were pretty depressed about the possibility of never being able to have kids.

Wouldn’t you know that within the same month of bringing JJ home, Eloise was conceived.

Needless to say he’s like our angel.

We got back from our Naples trip and JJ isn’t doing so well.

There’s cat puke all over the basement and he is bleeding out of his butt.  We’re going to the vet asap.

Please say a prayer or two for him.
