Where Zat? #19

where-zat-19

Monday again and time for Where Zat?! Where’s this location? It’s right out in plain sight.  Watch for clues if you need them!

Good luck and thanks for playing!              —-Sharon

Where Zat? Winner!

where-zat-18There was only one person who got the right location of this week’s photo. If I didn’t know where it was, I would have guessed Stage Fort going out to the cannons. But in reality it wasn’t there or Half Moon Beach. It’s at the beginning of Eastern Point Boulevard, just as you go through the pillars off to the left leading up to the gazebo.

Congratulations, Mung! And Hedge, it does look like that photo on your blog!

Thanks for playing!

Where Zat? #18

We’ve had this little contest going for 18 weeks! All through the winter into the SPRING!!

Last week this comment from Joe (not Joey C.): “Those that picked the Public Ramp behind GHS got it correct, from my view. Have lived on the river all my life, and that Great Blue is taking off from an old pile, that has been there the entire time.”

Can you figure out where this week’s location is? Not far off the beaten path?

Thanks for playing! Good luck!

Where Zat? #17

where-zat17Where’s this Great Blue flying? Joey, it isn’t Niles Pond. Not even close!

Have fun!

Where Zat? #16

Last week Joey identified the location of the “OPEN” flag at Essex Seafood on 133 heading into Essex. Other readers got it as well…after Joey did. The week’s location isn’t as prominent as last week’s, but some of you will know where it is!

Have fun!!

Where Zat, Frank and Paul?

dsc_6693-open-full Joey remembered where   that sign is. If I hadn’t taken the photo yesterday, I wouldn’t have known.  One of those things you just don’t notice. And my son who delivers there everyday for Ocean Crest didn’t recognize it either!

I asked my son if he knew where this was. He should know, but he didn’t. Joey probably does.

Take a shot at it! Good luck!

Where Zat? Now do you know?

Here’s the whole photo. Before I reveal where it is,  a few clues.

1. It’s past Niles Beach.

2. You can see it from the road, but not the main road.

3. Look to your right on the way to the light.

Okay…this one might be tough, but maybe not! Depends where your travels take you!

Hey Paul, do you know this one?

Where Zat? #12

Where Zat?

Last week’s winner was Paul Frontiero AKA capeannpainter who on a long shot guessed the identity as a Lane’s Cove shack.

Because of the economy, we have suspended asking small businesses for prize donations. BUT… it’s still fun and past winners don’t have to feel guilty about guessing!

A huge thank you to the businesses who have donated the prizes in the past.

This week’s location might be too easy…Sorry, Joey!

Where Zat? Winner!

Paul Frontiero took a long shot when he guessed the Lane’s Cove shack and when I notified him, he wrote back….

“You gotta be kidding me?
I’ve been down there alot. Must be implanted in my noggin.
I promise I won’t guess for awhile. Unless… one of the next prizes is a Cruise. Thanks Sharon.
Take Care, Paul

So Paul wins a gift certificate from the Lone Gull.  Congratulations, Paul!

We know how hard the economy has been hitting us all, so until things pick up, I’d rather not ask small businesses for donations. Soooo- we can still have fun with this without prizes, and Paul won’t have to feel guilty about guessing!!! Jan, you too!

Where Zat #11

Last week’s winner was Jan Dunsky who identified the Union Congregational Church. Today we have a $20 gift certificate from the Lone Gull Coffee House on Main St. in downtown Gloucester. Thank you , Joe and Mary Borge, for donating this week’s prize!

I think Joey will approve of the degree of difficulty for this one!

Where Zat? Winner!

Janet was the first one to identify the Union Congregational Church in Magnolia.  And then Dean got it. Good eye! I’ll post the full photo later today! Congrats Jan!

Last week’s winner Adam won a $20 gift certificate from Audrey’s Flower Shop when he identified the location as Walker Creek in West Gloucester. Nice job, Adam!

The prize this week is a $20 gift certificate from Susan Emerson at Gloucester Music on Main St. Great place to find just what you need in music. Many instruments, too! Thanks, Susan!

Hope this one’s tough enough, Joey!                      —–Sharon

Where Zat? Walker Creek

Walker Creek

Adam, this week’s winner, wrote “I grew up on and in Walker Creek and kind of know it like the back of my hand. I recognized the short dock right away, but it’s always funny how a telephoto pulls in the background. It took me a little while to convince myself.” He does gorgeous photography at Tragabigzanda.

He wins a gift certificate from Audrey’s Flower Shop. A big thank you to Heather Peterson! Congratulations, Adam!

For those of you who don’t know where Walker Creek is,  it’s at the corner of  Sumner and Concord Streets in W. Gloucester.  Nice bike ride if you can handle the hills. And remember your camera!

We have a winner!

Adam identified the location of the Where Zat? contest as Walker Creek in West Gloucester. Congratulations Adam! I’ll post the full photo later in the day. —–Sharon

Where Zat? #9

Where Zat

This has been so much fun! Last week’s location was the Dog Bar (one of my favorites!). Gloucester native, Joanne Silva won a $25 gift certificate to the Dogtown Book Shop. Thanks again to Bob Ritchie for donating the prize.

The Where Zat? #9 winner will receive a $20 gift certificate from Audrey’s Flower Shop. Just in time for Valentine’s Day! Owner Heather Peterson wanted me to tell you that the shop is selling a dozen red roses for $70. That’s less than $6 a rose!

Good luck on this week’s contest!
