The only hint I’ll give you is it’s a paved road somewhere on Cape Ann. Good luck! And the first person to correctly identify the location will receive 1 of the last 2 remaining t-shirts before the new order comes in!

Nelson’s Ride 2009 Slide Show
A couple of years ago my son, Mark and I did this ride on his Harley. I was able to get a lot of very cool shots from the back of the bike. We left from the soccer field on 133 in Ipswich and hit the hills on Rte. 1. We had a great time! The bike’s not running right now, so no ride this year.
Here’s what I captured yesterday. Click on the photo to see the slide show.

Neptune’s Harvest- At Stage Fort Park!
While I was shooting the motorcycle run, I noticed this little postage stamp garden up near the visitor center. Amazing!
Neptune’s Harvest is a by-product of Ocean Crest Seafoods down in the Fort. I’ve used the stuff and things grow like crazy!

Friday August 21
Music at the Cape Ann Museum on Fridays at Noon
The Cape Ann Museum is pleased to present free noontime concerts in the Museum’s Sculpture Garden on Fridays during the month of August. Performers for the remainder of the month will be James White on August 21 and The Aspidistra Drawing Room Orchestra on August 28.
The Pleasant Street Tea Company and Lark Fine Foods have generously donated beverages and cookies for these events. In the event of rain, the performances will take place inside the Museum.
James White, now a resident of Gloucester, is originally from England. He has been writing music since the 1970s, playing and performing in both Europe and New England as well as doing session work with his first instrument, the electric violin.
The Aspidistra Drawing Room Orchestra is based in London, England. The orchestra specializes in the type of light classical music from the late nineteenth, early twentieth century that is usually referred to as Palm Court Music or Salon Music. The ensemble consists of a string quartet, piano, flute and oboe.
Funding for this program was made possible through a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, which promotes excellence, access, education and diversity in the arts, humanities and interpretive sciences, in order to improve the quality of life for all Massachusetts residents and to contribute to the economic vitality of our communities.
The Cape Ann Museum is located at 27 Pleasant Street in Gloucester. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Museum is closed during the month of February, on Mondays, and on major holidays. Admission is $8.00 adults, $6.00 Cape Ann residents, seniors and students. Children under 12 and Museum members are free. The Museum is wheelchair accessible. For more information please call: (978) 283-0455. Additional information can be found online at http://www.capeannmuseum.org.

Where Zat Winner

That was toooo easy. Hedge got it first and had photos to prove it. Then everyone else said basically the same thing…The red dories in Jones Creek off Stone Pier.
Congratulations to all and Hedge, you can pick up your t-shirt at Capt. Joe’s later today. Thanks for playing!
More Frustration!
Well, this post was supposed to be a shortened version of my slide show “Express Yourself, Gloucester” that we showed at the Block Party, BUT of course the conversion program that I use decided to change their format and it crashed my computer 3 times. So Joey said to try Youtube instead. It didn’t like my password, so I had to create another account. Uploaded the video. They can’t publish it because I used the song “We are Family” and it’s copyrighted.
I’m going for a bike ride. See you at noon!

Great Teamwork Once Again Shows What Is Possible
Look for The Block Party Red Carpet Celebrity Slide Show At 8AM
A Complete Team Effort Proved Once Again That The Power Of Pulling In The Same Direction For A Great Event Can Reap Huge Rewards For Our Entire Community!
Great job by my fellow Block Party Committee members once again. Also a great job by the folks in City Government and the Police and Fire Departments.
Special thanks to some unsung heros who also helped tremendously during the event- Rick Moore, Donna Ardizzone, and Bob Gillis who helped clean the streets.
Thanks To the DPW for leaving the extra barrells.
Big thanks to The Cape Ann YMCA Clean Team who you will see in a video later today helping to clean the streets spotless at the end of the night.
I’d like to give a huge personal thank you to our Good Morning Gloucester Soldiers- Sharon who manned the GMG Block Party Celebrity Red Carpet Station (Slide show coming at 8AM), Joey and Frank Ciolino who built the backdrop and helped throughout the event at the media presentation truck and David Cox who will undoubtedly provide us with hundreds more photos from this magnificent evening .
Thanks to the people who provided the media presentations, the Art Haven Folks who provided children activities, and Georgie and Erika Hansen who were doing the face painting.
Thanks to all the musicians and performers who donated their time on one of the busiest nights of the year when they could be playing paid gigs elsewhere but play instead for free because they too realize that sometimes it’s not about getting paid.
The Downtown Merchants and restaurants once again put their best face forward and showed what a brilliant jewel we have in Downtown Gloucester.
300 Faces in 15 Minutes!
If I’ve caught you on camera in the past 10 years, chances are your face will be included in my slideshow “Express Yourself, Gloucester!” tonight at the Block Party. Come on down and check it out. 300 faces in 15 minutes with fun, upbeat music! See you there! —Sharon

From Dave Sag on the Rhumb Line’s Thursday Night Blues Party
“Big fun this thursday at the Rumline as we drag in Ms. Lisa Marie kicking and screaming thru 3 more unbelievable sets. Egging her on will be Benny the B Benson on drumps and high dudgeon, and Our old pal, Henley Douglas Jr., the inventor of the shirt , on saxamaphonium. Of course, Greg T. and his hat will be there, as well as myself. I just finished fixing my uprite, so I’ll be flailing away on that for a change…
And , if you still got the strength, Friday at Elliot’s presents the GEEZERZ, once again: that is Dave Brown, Greg T. and myself, as well as Jim Gwin, Keith Lockhart’s favorite drummmnist on what else but…drumms!”
