Yesterday afternoon’s project

I submitted this last night to the 365 Project.  My body was exhausted from shoveling, but the keyboard took very little exertion, and I learned how to put images inside letters.

Today feels like Monday AND Friday rolled into one! Enjoy the day!

Deck Prisms

In the days before electricity, light below a vessel’s deck was limited to candles, oil and kerosene lamps. A clever solution for the light problem was the deck prism. Laid flush into the deck, the prism point drew light down below decks.

I set this reproduction on a light box and shot on the same plane as the base. This was submitted for my 365 Project.

Late Afternoon at the Beach

The long shadows and colors of the sky, sand, and water….sometimes winter’s not that bad.

Yesterday’s post for the 365 Project

This project gets me to think more creatively. This shot was ok out of the camera, but when I switched it to b&w and played with the settings in Photoshop, the design created by the pier and reflection became the eye’s focus rather than the color.

13 days in!

I committed myself to post an image every day on the 365 Project. Some days it’s simple, others I have to really stretch my imagination as you’ll see.Click on Chris’s photo below. Then click the”next” button to see the 12 posts. The 13th will come later today. Enjoy!

Charles at the Wheel

Charles was a participant in the Rocky Neck Plunge. He’s now a famous Gloucester icon!

Ice Cold Paddler

Walking on the beach yesterday was cold enough without purposely going into the water. I don’t get it, but I sure do admire these guys’ guts.
