Ma’s Meatballs

Yesterday my girls went to my mothers house to learn how to make the zugu and mudiga.  After work I went by to taste the fruit of their labor.  Yum!  I had about 6 slices of Virgilio’s bread dipped in the zugu on the stove before I even got to the table.

Mudiga Steak Sandwich At Fort Square Cafe

Delicious and Filling.  Matty says the secret is in using “The Good Oil” and plenty of cheese when you make the mudiga.  Excellent roll from Virgilio’s.

My Gaguzza at Passports

I’m proud to say that Eric at Passports put my recipe for Gaguzza on the menu yesterday.

What is gauguzza you ask?

It’s zuccini. The preparation for this dish is thinly sliced zuccini breaded and fried with the Italian breadcrumbs (mudiga) then layered with fresh mozzarella sitting on top of the zugu so the fried gaguzza doesn’t get all soggy.

Delicious! Go see Eric and ask for the Gaguzza!
