GHS boys play a great second half after allowing Lynn to get ahead 21-0 but run out of time and loose at end of great game. The final was 21-19. They have a lot of football left to play and they will be back!!

BEAUTIFUL AND ATMOSPHERIC FOG DESCENDING OVER EASTERN POINT

FV Endeavor in the Foggy Sunset

Heading out to photograph wild creatures, instead I found fog. Beginning in the afternoon and lasting into sunset, waves and ribbons of fog enveloped the east end of Gloucester until only shapes and silhouettes were visible.

A wedding reception was underway at the Yacht Club, lots of folks were out watching the setting sun, and a photo shoot was taking place on the Dogbar. Returning home, Niles Beach and Ten Pound Island were even more shrouded in fog. Final stop was the Paint Factory to catch the last glimmer of light. Looking towards Ten Pound Island from the Paint Factory, in the last Instagram you can see the sliver of a crescent moon.

Sending our heartfelt condolences to the Nesta Family. John will be deeply missed by his Rocky Neck community of family and friends, and by all who knew him.
John L. “In Love With My Next Painting” Nesta, 72, Prominent Cape Ann Artist, of Gloucester. Husband of Jennifer S. (Miles) Nesta, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 14, 2017. John had a gallery in The Rocky Neck Art Colony in Gloucester, MA for over 40 years. He is survived by his loving family. His visiting hours will be held on Monday, September 18, from 5-7 p.m. in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington St. Gloucester, MA. John’s service will be held on Tuesday, September 19 at 10 a.m. in the Greely Funeral Home. Burial will be held privately. A reception will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 in the Rocky Neck Cultural Center, 6 Wonson St. Gloucester, MA at 2:30 p.m. Friends and acquaintances are all cordially invited to these gatherings. Parade of Sail as Schooners proceed from Inner Harbor, past the Fishermen’s Memorial on Stacy Boulevard, to the race starting area off Eastern Point.

Shuttle Bus to Eastern Point Light, from Eastern Point Gate (Eastern Point Boulevard at Farrington Avenue) to watch the start of the Mayor’s Race. Free ofCharge, courtesy of Cape Ann Transportation Authority.

1:00pm
Start of Mayor’s Race for the Esperanto Cup, Columbia Trophy, Ned Cameron Trophy; and Betty Ramsey Trophy off Eastern Point.

Monday evening an impromptu gathering is planned, but not official as of yet.
