This is the Bad Ass van that belongs to the creators/owners of Everlution Forms. Chickity Check out their blog EverlutionForms.com for photos of their unique, cool, hip designs, events and locations of where you can see their work in person.

It’s totally fresh and I highly highly highly recommend y’all check out their stuff.

It’s what we’re all about- local people creating stuff responsibly and making our space a more beautiful and interesting place to be! Check it out!

I’ll be sure to let everyone know in this space the next time they have a show, and I’m hoping one day they will invite me to tag along to one of the roller derby’s they go to.

Hand Carved Striper At Menage Gallery

I’ve been seeing more and more of the hand carved striper bass around town.  One looked particularly cool over the threshold of someone’s house just past the stone bridge heading toward Annisquam.

Net Work

It gives you an idea of the scale of these boats when you see the fork truck that looks tiny alongside them.

Johnny Mondello’s Lobster Skiff

Here is Johnny Mondello’s lobster red lobster skiff.  Johnny built a plywood setting table for his traps so when he hauls them up he can place them on that plywood setting table to clean them out and rebait them.  This is the perfect little skiff to fish the rocks (also known as fishing the bushes) when the lobsters are in tight to shore.

Nick Novello and Jeremiah Nicastro Rhumb Line Tournament Update

Nick Novello was kind enough to forward me a few pics of this tuna that Jeremiah Nicastro landed on 50 lb test and a striper rod.

Here is Nick’s update-

“We were in the Rhumbline Striper Tourney and only landed a 24 lb Bass.  We did get lucky on this 100+ pound Football Tuna However.
Jeremiah was on the rod, and I was on the wheel for an hour and a half on Saturday.  50lb Test on a striper set up, Shimano Baitrunner 6500 on a Penn Slamer 30-50 class rod.  It was quite the fight and a pretty cool to hoist it over the rail!

Enjoy!”

Lazy Daizy Restoration Update 8/4/08

Here’s the latest folks. At this point the train wreck Lazy Daizy has been taken out of the water and sits on stands in the parking lot at East Gloucester Marine. Not much progress (if any) has taken place on her but at least the owner isn’t incurring big water dockage fees and will be paying much less to watch it rot away in the parking lot as opposed to rotting away in the water.

Rhumb Line Striper Tournament First Place Winner Lou Biondo

Thanks to Story Reed for this report from The Rhumb Line Striper Tournament-

The Fourth Annual Rhumb Line Striper Tournament was held on Saturday, August 2nd. 95 people participated. Fish had to be weighed-in at The Rhumb Line parking lot between 3:30 and 5:00 pm. Roughly 15 fish were weighed-in by the volunteer tournament staff. The rain held off until about 4:30 but didn’t deter any of the participants from having a good time watching the weigh-in and enjoying the barbecue. The Junior Division was won by Conner Quinn with a 17 lb 7 oz Striper. Conner won a rod and reel for first place. Conner also won two raffle prizes and went home with the tournament banner! 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes were given out in the Adult Division winning $600, $200, and $100 respectively. 3rd place went to Brady Kain with a 33 lb 1 oz Striper. 2nd place went to Mark Vona with a 34 lb 1 oz fish. 1st place went to Lou Biondo of Gloucester with a huge 39 lb 15 oz fish. It was a great turn out and we hope for an equally fun time next year for the 5th Annual Rhumb Line Striper Tournament.
