Yesterday was one of those days that there was so much stuff to do you couldn’t possibly fit it all in. Talk about lucky. If you were in Gloucester yesterday you had a pick of about ten free awesome events to attend. Among them- The Schooner Adventure open house, The Judith Sargent Murray House, West End Sweets opened, The Charlie Lowe Exhibit at The Cape Ann Historical Museum.
How lucky are we? What town north of Boston have so much going on? Count your blessings.

I shot this video out the window of my office here at the dock. Talk about a birds eye view!
Johnny Arnold Gives Us The Scoop Along With Sweeping Views Of Gloucester’s Working Waterfront-
I knew there were all these doors in the front of the building. What I didn’t know was that they folded away accordion style for an al fresco dining experience overlooking Gloucester Harbor and the working waterfront. The place has been packed. I wish the restaurants downtown could do this like they do on Newbury Street at Sonsie. The closest thing we get are The Block Parties at which we get to see everyone at the tables outside enjoying food and wine in the nice weather.

I took these two carved wooden stripers home from the Menage Gallery to see if they would work in the house. The Mrs loves them and actually found about 4 or five different spots that she wanted to place them. I say that’s a little overkill so we may settle on just getting two. One for the kitchen and one for the deck. Pictured is “Goody” who was working yesterday when I picked these two up. Video at 2PM

Back in the eighties I heard this song on WBCN once, just once. I loved it but never found out who sang it and always wanted to find out.
Fast forward 20 plus years and I’m at the library thumbing through the cd collection and lo and behold I run across Willie Alexander’s “The East Main Street Suite” cd and the third song is “Bass Rocks”
I had an idea for making a video of Back Shore photos put to Willie’s song and asked his permission which he kindly granted.
But in Willie’s email he asked which version I had, “The East Main Street Suite” version or “the earlier version“?
Intrigued, I checked youtube for “the earlier version”
That’s when I found the following video and decided to scrap my project in favor of Willie’s early eighties music video-
Check out Willie’s website by clicking this text

Did you know that Gloucester resident and bad ass Willie Alexander was a part of The Velvet Underground?
BTW Willie if you read this, I think you look like you are in way better shape now than you were back in the early eighties.

Last summer Toby on the Jupiter II brought in a lobster that was yellow in pigmentation, I’ve never in my 33 years down the dock seen a completely white albino lobster. I’ve seen half white ones and documented them in photographs, half blue ones and documented them, but never a completely white one.
Look for the video tomorrow morning.
Thanks goes to Paul Movali for pointing out to me. Paul’s a good egg.
