Another gargoyle shot from Notre Dame in Paris. Possibly my best photo from all this vacation. Shot at max telephoto without a tripod, thanks to the great low-light capabilities of my new Sony a65 camera! The only retouching I did was to crop the photo, slightly adjust the contrast on the moon’s face, and remove some color fringing. And add the discreet copyright notice on the top ledge.

Uhmmmm, that whole priest thing, totally underrated apparently.
So I guess this begs the question- Would you give up sex to become a priest and travel the world with awesome cameras eating chocolate and drinking wine?

Good morning, Joey! The St. Ann’s School auction fundraiser last night was a great event. I wasn’t able to stay for the whole thing, but I snapped some photos while I was there. Unfortunately, I didn’t get everyone’s names to label the photos, but I have to run to preside a funeral now anyway so wouldn’t have time to label them all anyway…

Mary made a St. Ann’s School uniform for the doll!
Dinner was colorful and delicious! God bless! Keep up the great work! Fr. Matthew

Our Paul asked us to document this last part of his son’s life.
Special thanks to Kim Smith, Father Matthew Green and Patricia Natti for providing pictures as well as the music.
During the moving mass by Father Garibaldi, Patricia Natti sang Ave Maria which sent a chill up my spine. I obviously wasn’t about to whip out my camera to record it but was thinking of how nice it would have been to have as the backdrop to the video Paul asked us to take. I said it to Kim Smith who was sitting next to me at the time.
After the ceremony the family gathered downstairs in the church where I ran into Patricia and Father Green who agreed to meet back at the church at 4:30 PM to record the audio for us.
I spoke to Paul and he sends deep thanks for such an act of kindness.
Good evening, Joey! Here are a few Gloucester autumn photos I took a day or two ago. The beautiful autumn afternoon light brings out the beauty of the foliage and the architecture:

On October 16, the Brazilian community of Gloucester will be celebrating the feast of their patroness, Our Lady Aparecida. The actual day of the feast is Oct. 12, but we’ll be having a mini-procession, Mass, and celebration on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 6:30PM at St. Ann’s. Our Mass in Portuguese will also have some things in English, so the English-speaking community is also welcome. In preparation for the celebration, parishioners are meeting at houses of different families in the Brazilian communities to pray, sing, and share some food. Here’s a photo at one of the houses. The little statue of "Nossa Senhora Aparecida" is in the blue box in the middle:

Good evening, Joey! I just got back from the Artober opening at Bodin Historic Photo. It was great to meet Kathleen Miller, who is a wonderfully talented artist. Besides the paintings – which seem to glow with their own light – there was a great selection of photos and other art, and delicious wine and finger food, including some home-made strudel good enough to knock your socks off. Note from editor Joey C- “When I popped in to say hey to Fred just a few days ago I met Kathleen and told her I loved the light in that very painting you bought with the lighthouse. Loved he way she recreated the light behind the lighthouse!
