My View of Life on the Dock
The first day of true spring isn’t until March 20th, but the blue, blue sky, Robins and their bird songs, and warming temperature sure made it feel like spring. There was a large flock today, feeding on fruits still remaining, and they were also busy in the leaf litter flipping dirt and looking for worms.

Thinking about tomorrow’s predicted nor’easter, the fourth this month of March, and hoping the old proverb “In like a lion, and out like a lamb” holds true. Many spring ephemerals are already showinging themselves and it won’t be long before the peonies are poking their red tipped heads out from beneath the leaf litter. Happy first day of spring!
New England springs are predictably unpredictable. The above photo of Magnolia ‘Alexandrina’ was taken exactly one year ago. The Ciaramitaro’s Auntie Elenanor reminds everyone of an old Gloucester saying ~ Never put the kid’s boots away, until after St. Joseph’s Day!
