Gloucester To Provincetown Ferry Pulls Away From The Dock

Stephanie Buckner and Gordan Michaels Mates On The Glou-PTown Ferry

Here are two of the crewmates Stephanie and Gordon aboard the ferry to Provincetown.  They were both very friendly and accommodating, posing for pictures for the blog.  This picture is in the galley where they serve food for the two and a half hour trip.

Gordon is a singer and will be performing in Gloucester soon.

Here is the loading ramp which looks to be very handicapped accessible.

They say the trip is worth it for the whale watching alone. A mate described Provincetown  as Bearskin Neck type destination times four.  He also told me there are many activities you can do in Provincetown outside of the tourist section.

A pretty light load. I’m thinking they will need many more passengers to make it worth while.

Looks like a staircase is being erected on the front side (facing the harbor) also some posts for what I assume will be a nice outside deck.

It was very encouraging to see the passengers board trolleys bound for downtown Gloucester!

Everyone I spoke with was having a great time and was delighted to be here.

Here’s a picture of the Gloucester To Provicetown Ferry run out of Cruiseport Gloucester. It departs daily at 8:30AM for the 2 and a half hour cruise down to P Town and back.

Not a bad little adventure to take.

In case you haven’t heard, there will be a daily ferry running from Cruiseport Gloucester to P-Town.

From Richard Gaines at The Gloucester Daily Times

Ferries will depart Gloucester from Cruiseport on Rowe Square off Flanagan Square at the Main and Rogers streets split each day at 8:30 a.m. The return trip from Provincetown leaves at 4:30 p.m.

Travel time is 21/2 hours, most of it crossing through Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary.”

Local contractors being used like Noble Electricians and  Mcgrath Plumbing.  It’s nice to see on a big project like this that local people are being used.
