Pet of the Week-Pecan

pecan, pet of the week, cape ann animal aid

Hi!  The silly volunteer here keeps calling me sweety pie!   I keep telling her I am a dog, not a pie!  I think it is because my name is Pecan.  She keeps telling me what a sweet and cute pup I am.

I am a eight-month-old Retriever/Lab mix girl and I am black-and-white.   I am a playful pup and I still need a little training, but if you are up to the challenge a new pup can bring, I am up to learning and listening.   I promise you will never be bored, my tail will always be wiggling and my personality is always happy.   Please stop by the Cape Ann Animal Aid, now located at the Christopher Cutler Rich Animal Shelter in Gloucester and visit me.

Don’t forget Dog Day on Sunday, September 9 (rain date September 15) from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at State Fort Park overlooking beautiful Gloucester Harbor.  There will be a Pet Expo with mini games, agility, alumni photos, pet related vendors, food, games for people and dogs, bouncy house and more!  Fun for everyone!

You may visit us online at: CapeAnnAnimalAid.com or visit us in person which is even better because you will get to meet me, Pecan.  I have to run – now I am hungry thinking about pecan pie!

Pet of the Week-Pipette

I must be famous, I am on GoodMorningGloucester – they have won so many awards!

Pipette, pet of the week,

My name is Pipette and I am a two-month-old girl kitten who is white-brown-and-orange. I am staying at the Cape Ann Animal Aid at the Christopher Cutler Rich Animal Shelter until I am adopted.

Have you visited the new shelter yet?  It is located now at Four Paws Lane in Gloucester and it is beautiful and the staff and volunteers are wonderful to all the animals!  Please stop by and visit us. You may also visit: CapeAnnAnimalAid.com and see photos of all the adoptable cats and dogs.

We are so grateful to many businesses and friends who have been so generous and now the new shelter is open!  The staff appreciates the added room, equipment and state-of-the art facility and I do too!

I must run now and find the volunteer to do my nails.  Now that I am on Good Morning Gloucester, I know Hollywood will be calling me soon!

Bill’s at Harbor Loop at 7 p.m.  You are welcome to bring a picnic lunch, but we will have hot dogs, grilled cheese, etc., and a cash bar and raffles.    Tickets are $20. for adults and $10. for children and are available now at the CAAA and Animal Krackers at 232 Main Street, Gloucester.

Miss Muffet – Pet of the Week

Miss Muffet Cape Ann Animal Aid

My name is Miss Muffet and I am a two-month-old
tiger kitten.   I am so excited because the Cape Ann Animal
Aid has moved into the new shelter at Four Paws Lane in
Gloucester at the Christopher Cutler Rich Animal Shelter.
It is absolutely amazing.   We kittens have lovely rooms looking
over the woods and inside we have plenty of room to roam,
play and run.

We still appreciate friends stopping by with items such as
large trash bags, clean towels, paper towels and gas cards for our shelter van.

Don’t forget that the Rescue Reunion will take place at
Stage Fort Park on Saturday, June 2 from 10 a.m.  2 p.m. rain or shine.
Plan to attend this fun event!  I won’t be there because I will be at the new shelter
looking at myself in my gorgeous room at the shelter – and
I even have a mirror to see how continuously cute I am!

Christopher Cutler Rich Animal Shelter-Ceremony

This morning I attended the ceremony for the new Cape Ann Animal Aid/Christopher Cutler Rich Animal Shelter.  It was a beautiful morning, great turn out, and showed the great dedication from so many in our community.

Cindy Dunn, Sunniva Buck, Mayor Carolyn Kirk, Representative Ann Margaret Ferrante, Don Fryklund, and Camilla Rich all shared what this shelter meant to them personally and all the hard work involved.

And after the ribbon was cut, we were able to see the new digs for all the very lucky cats and dogs. Such a spacious, bright, and light filled facility with enough room to save many furry lives!

The animals will be placed in their new home next week. I think they will be very pleased and thankful.
