The Cape Ann Artisans welcome neighbors, family, friends, and visitors to the summer Mini-Tour this weekend.    Don’t forget you can shop for all your favorite art TAX-FREE up to $2500.00  this special event on Saturday, August 13th, nine studios will be participating between the hours of 10AM and 5PM.

The tour is “self-guided” and visitors can start anywhere they wish.  However, planning is encouraged and the online map is a good guide to make the most of the day.  A special Mini-Tour rack card shows the participating studios.   The CAA encourages visitors to do some advance planning to maximize their visit by using the CAA map which is now available at all the tourism outlets and online.    You will find brochures at the Cape Ann Chamber, North of Boston CVB on 95 South, Stage Ft. Park Visitors Center, local banks, and CAA partner locations.  You can visit these studios on August 13th and enjoy a Sales Tax holiday with retail items up to $2500.

We hope you can join us for a fun day with a bouncy house, live music, raffle prizes (Red Sox Tickets, Paddle Board Lessons, Cape Ann Marina Gift Certificate, Maritime Gloucester Membership and more!), games, face painting & more! All proceeds go to the Jimmy Fund. Come out and have a good time for a good cause!

Last year we held a fundraiser to show support for our teammate Calum in his fight against Wilms Tumor, a rare form of cancer that targets children. He has won his battle, and now we want to continue to help others like him.

I had to stop and take some photos of the sky at Niles Beach last night. It was interesting how soft and light the sky looked there….in contrast to the storm clouds that were slowly menacing their way over the harbor at the exact same time.

Cape Ann Makers Market at Emerson Inn Thursday Aug 11

The final Moonrise Market will be held Thursday Aug 11 at the Emerson Inn on Cathedral Ave in Rockport from 6-9 PM and we hope to see you there. The vendors will be on the lawn while fine food and drink will be offered inside (reservations recommended). The Cape Ann Makers Market runs a fine show and Pat D’s Photos will be there along with several other wonderful local artisans.

Pat D’s Photos will be featuring some new products such as Motif themed refrigerator magnets and glass ornaments such as these. ***Heads up advance notice* The prices of the glass ornaments will be raised at the end of August so this is a great opportunity to save yourself some money by thinking ahead a bit!***

Lou is going to set lobster traps which means to me the lobsters will pick up dramatically. Lou always times it perfectly. He’s like the Nostradamus of fishermen. Certain fishermen are always chasing yesterday’s news and you know when they get set up for a certain fishery everyone should just haul in their gear and call it quits because everything will turn to shit. But not Lou. Lou is gold with his timing.
