An art collection showcases works in “conversation” – a visual language – curated by the keen collector. Together, opportunity and value open a dazzling path for the collector’s identity to shine.
CAPE ANN COLLECTORS’ 2026opening show, “Art of the Print: Path of Opportunity,” opens Saturday, February 7 and Sunday, February 8, 1 – 5 p.m., and runs Saturdays through February 28. CAC offers both opportunity and value through our “black and white” prints on display in our main gallery (all 52 works are available). Works in this affordable collection include lithographs, etchings, monotypes, and silkscreens – all are vibrant, historically significant, and narrative driven.
While on Cape Ann, many masters honed their exemplary skills. Painter-etchers Stephen Maxfield Parrish and William Meyerowitz mastered etching to reach wide audiences, being personally involved in the entire process of creating the image, grinding the plate, and pulling the print. Additionally, lithographer Stow Wengenroth, referred by Winslow Homer as “the greatest black and white artist in America,” developed an uncanny mastery for capturing the mood, light, and texture of Cape Ann’s compelling landscape.
Beat a path to CAPE ANN COLLECTORS and seize the opportunity to contemplate, commence and re-envision your own collection!
