Another STACKED week at The Cut!!

Wednesday: The Cutup – Comedy Open Mic Night – 7pm – $5 at the door. No Presale. Come try your hand on stage, or just come to laugh!
AND
Palate to Palette – Watch a painting come to life before your eyes while you sip a drink and enjoy a lovely dinner. This is a free event, but we suggest making a reservation to secure a table. Event starts at 5pm.
AND
TRIVIA! – Come test your smarts with our new bar trivia series. Game starts at 7:30pm. It’s free to play, but we do suggest you make a reservation to secure a table. Trivia will be held EVERY Wednesday night in the restaurant.
Thursday: The Gravel Project with Wood & Bone and HDRnB There are still tickets available for this show. Doors at 7pm. Show at 8pm. Music: Pop, Rock, Jazz, Funk.
AND
The F.C.C. Organ Trio in the restaurant. Music from 8pm – 10:30pm. No cover.
Friday: The Taylor Party – A Taylor Swift Dance Party. Doors at 8pm, show at 9pm. There are still tickets available for this event. AND we’ll be making friendship bracelets in the restaurant before the show, starting at 6pm. Bracelet supplies are free. Come make one to wear or trade!
Saturday: Duane Betts & Palmetto Motel. Doors at 7pm. Show at 8pm. There are still some tickets available for this show. Music: Blues, Rock, Southern Rock.
Sunday: Full Moon Art Market Sip & Shop. Join us for a quirky art market in the venue from 12-5pm. Bar will be open!
AND
Vinyl Night in the restaurant. BYO records and we’ll spin them! 4pm – 10pm. This will be a recurring event every Sunday.

This Week at The Cut!

Margarita Monday at 51 Rocky Neck

We stopped by 51 Rocky Neck (formerly The Studio) to check things out and it happened to be Margarita Monday. The bartender suggested her special watermelon margarita which I happily tried. It was VERY refreshing. Jim ordered the mortadella sandwich which is quite a handful as well as tasty and delicious. I ordered the Banana Smash which is a delightful treat using a banana split as its model. The dessert is brought to you in an ice cream cup, turned upside down on the serving tray and SMASHED! Then a little chocolate drizzle tops it off. Pretty perfect for a warm afternoon. Patrick and his crew have done a wonderful job on the inside and it’s quite a pleasure. Give them a try.

Summer at the Sawyer Free Library: Reverse Glass Painting with Pop Up Art School for Teens & Tweens

On Tuesday, July 16 from 4:30 to 6:00 pm Tweens and Teens are invited to unlock their crafty side, learn about the centuries-old art of reverse glass painting and create their own reverse painting with Pop Up Art School at the Sawyer Free Library!

Participants can choose from three images, and paint it using acrylic paint on clear acetate.

Reverse painting techniques have been used since the 16th century. In reverse painting, the details are painted first and then the larger shapes. It’s the reverse order of how one usually paints on paper or canvas where we start with the background, add medium to large shapes and then details. Once the image has been painted, it is viewed from the opposite side through the clear acetate.

Rising 6th graders to graduated 12 graders welcome. Space is limited, please register at SawyerFreeLibrary.org to hold your spot.
