See, this is what happens when dog owners leave the house. Dogs just humping everything in sight. Even the poor Minion gets violated.  Goddamned dog owners, so naive and shit.  Awww isn’t he cute,  he just wants to play.  Awwwww look at the widdle puppy playing with the Minion.  See how nice they play together?

Next thing you know the Minon’s walkin’ around funny with an ice pack strapped to it’s butt.

Hammer time.  By Jesus that dog was relentless.  Cut to next scene- stuffing flying everywhere.

and y’all wonder why I have a healthy fear of canines.

Oh and another thing, listen to the dog owners laughing.  That’s how it always is.  Dogs be humping your leg or jumping all over you with muddy paws or licking you and their owners are laughing the whole time.

Volunteer Mentors Needed

Do you have a sincere interest to work with adult learners from various backgrounds? Are you a current college student, business owner, professional, or retired? The Wellspring Educational Resource Center (WERC) at Wellspring House, 302 Essex Ave, is seeking volunteer mentors to help adult learners identify educational and career goals to attain and sustain a living wage position.  You will be paired with another mentor to help 2-5 students develop their personal plans to achieve their goals for personal success.  Training and resources provided.  Call Patrick Devanney at (978) 281-3558, ext. 323 to learn more.

The Unitarian Universalist Society of Rockport’s Thrift Shop is having its end-of-season HALF PRICE SALE starting this Friday and Saturday, August 28 and 29 and continuing Friday and Saturday September 4 and 5.  The shop is open from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00.  Customers will find great treasures..old tools, fine crystal, oriental rugs, sporting equipment, games and puzzles, collectibles..something for all ages!
The money from the Thrift Shop goes toward the matching funds the church is required by the Community Preservation Fund to raise for the repair of the church steeple. 
Come, browse…you might be surprised at what you might find and you will be helping with the restoration of one of Rockport’s treasures.  We are located at 4 Cleaves Street in downtown Rockport.

John Hickey Brown was born in Hartford, CT in 1955 and currently resides in Melrose, MA. He
attended the University of Hartford and received a BA in English Literature from Charter Oak
College in 1981. He worked in the graphic arts field for over twenty‐five years.
While having no formal art training, he has received instruction from Boston artist, Jason Polins,
and has regularly attended the drop‐in classes and workshops of well‐known Gloucester painter
and teacher, David Curtis.
He is an associate member of the Rockport Art Association and the North Shore Arts
Association in Gloucester. He enjoys participating in local events, such as Paint Essex and the art
auction at the Sawyer Free Library.
He paints landscapes in oil, primarily en plein air. He draws inspiration from the landscape of
New England and from the great tradition of American impressionist painters, especially those
who were drawn to Cape Ann.
“We are so happy to be able to welcome another local artist to our Gloucester branch. This
program has proven to be a very popular one in the Gloucester community – with local citizens
and visitors, alike,” noted Bank President, Russ Cole.
About the program:
One artist’s work is scheduled to be shown every three months; Mr. Brown’s work will be
displayed through October 2015. A reception is planned at the branch on Friday, September 18
from 1:00‐4:00PM to offer you the opportunity to meet John and learn more about his work.
