We all want to feel good. “So why do we love the Blues?” you ask. As it turns out, music in general — and sad songs in particular — help us feel better. Really. Here are 4 scientific studies on the subject: Science Alert, PLOS, NAI, University of Chicago.
Tomorrow (Saturday) night you have 4 good reasons to feel better … and all 4 are right down the road at Beverly’s intimate, acoustically stellar Larcom Theatre:
What’s not to feel good about? Tickets starting at only $19.00 are still available here.

Mike writes,
“This release is about more than just the video. It is a celebration of the first track we took from an idea in my head, and with months of hard work and dedication, we created something real you can listen to and now watch. From producing the beat, writing and recording this track myself with the help of Chris Lane using our own equipment, taking it to Jon Glasser who helped shape it by editing and mixing the audio, and then Moon Rock Sound for mastering. Then I came up with the idea for the video and took a chance and brought in Dee Lane to work on his first film project. We spent hours recording vocals and re-working the beat, I must have written a million words that didn’t make sense before these heart felt lyrics came out. If you know me you know this music journey has been a long and windy road with many bumps and bruises along the way. I’ve never quit, I’ve never given up, and I don’t think I ever will. We’ve come a long way from recording in Chris’s basement and the days my songs were about fake bullshit I thought you wanted to hear. We still have a longer way to go, but to see how far we’ve progressed both as men and artists with the support that all of you have given me over these years has kept me going. I work a full time office job during the week, I pay an absurd amount of money to bills, student loans ect,I live in a basement studio apartment with my girlfirend, I know what its like to have a messed up family, to be stressed out, to question what your purpose is and to ask yourself every day what’s the point? I have dedicated my life to this art form, when its all said and done I will be able to walk away and say I gave it everything I had. Years down the road when they ask me why, I’ll say I did it all… “For The Music”.
Not only could Codzilla be called a fish out of water, but it looks like a fish out of water sitting in our very own Gloucester Marine Railways.
I took the boys for a ride in Boston Harbor on Codzilla last summer. They enjoyed it, but it wasn’t as crazy fast and fun as they expected.

Ruby is a work in progress if you will. A little rusty in spots but nothing a little TLC won’t fix. This girl is super smart! Adventures outdoors are a must. A true friend Ruby’s favorite place is beside a person, someone who gives her scratches behind the ears or a good rub to her head. You may be asking yourself what is this rust you mentioned? Ruby loves to chase cars and needs training on the leash to learn not to chase them (as she is very strong). She barks at them when she is in the car as well and will jump back and forth so she needs to be belted in. Ruby needs a home with children in their teens and that is experienced with dogs and is committed to helping her over this one last hurdle. So if you’re looking for that perfect pal, that oversized lap-dog, you enjoy training and spending time exercising outdoors, well then stop by and visit Ruby! To learn more about Ruby and the see what other animals are available, please check our website: capeannanimalaid.org.

We are getting some good press coverage on 7News tonight, tomorrow and Saturday. Their What’s Cooking Segment has their reporter (Sarah French) in the Revere Ninety Nine with Charlie and Chef George. She actually goes into the kitchen with Chef George to make the Simple Seasoned Fresh Haddock. We haven’t seen the edited piece yet, but Charlie stressed the fact that it is a Gloucester product and that we have worked closely with our partners in Gloucester to bring a local product to our tables. Chef George reinforced that throughout the preparation of the dish. Should be great!
Looking forward to the segments. Here are the air dates/times for the next three days:
– Thursday, 4/28 at 10pm on the CW56 Station
– Friday, 4/29 at 9am, 12pm and 4pmon WHDH-TV Channel 7 News
– Saturday, 4/30 – throughout the day on weekend showings of news
– Replays will also be available on the WHDH website
