Cleveland Rocks
We have some good friends who are Yankee fans and despite their poor judgment in baseball teams we have enjoyed a little friendly rivalry. About 8 years ago we thought it would be fun to start visiting different ballparks. It started with the Baltimore Orioles (which other than Fenway is my favorite so far) and since then we’ve seen both NY parks, both Chicago parks, Toronto, Houston, Dallas, Philadelphia and this year we came to Cleveland. So far we have seen 11 out of 30 parks and done as much touring, eating and drinking in each area as we could lol! Next on the agenda is finishing up the east coast with Washington, Georgia and Florida! It’s a great way to visit the country! Today we see the Red Sox take on Cleveland 😋

Glow Sticks
With some funky fireworks in the fog the other night, it was a good thing that all the kiddos were well lit with lots of glow sticks.
Finn found it more fun to make his own fireworks.

Cupping – Giant, round bruises seen on Michael Phelps’ back and shoulders has drawn a lot of people’s attention during this year’s Olympics. You may also recall a similar reaction when actors Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Anniston, wearing backless dresses while walking the runway revealed the same bruising a number of years ago. All the attention has increased awareness of cupping as a means to ‘release tension; and ‘relax the muscles.’ Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been around for thousands of years, as practiced in China, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam. TCM practices may consist of a variety of techniques such as acupuncture, herbs, cupping, tui na, qi gong, and moxibustion.

MOTHRA!
Noticeably growing larger day by day, the biggest caterpillar of our batch of Cecropia Moth caterpillars (nicknamed Mothra) still has a ways to go before he/she pupates and becomes a cocoon for the winter.

The colorful protuberances with black spikes are thought to mimic either a poisonous plant or animal and are a defense against predators. Like most caterpillars, the Cecropia moth caterpillar has five pairs of prolegs. The green prolegs are blue at the base with a row of microscopic hooks, or crochets, that enable walking and clinging.
Although the Cecropia Moth has the largest wingspan of any moth found in North America, its caterpillar is not the largest caterpillar. That honor goes to the caterpillar of the Royal Walnut Moth, also called Regal Moth, which in its caterpillar stage is called the Hickory Horned Devil.
Thank you again to friend Christine for the Cecropia Moth eggs. They are the offspring of the male Cecropia Moth that she is holding in the photo above.
