Seaside Sustainability’s Shrink Wrap Recycling Program offers a free, eco-friendly solution for Cape Ann boaters to dispose of their shrink wrap responsibly.
Running for the month of May, convenient recycling container at the DPW in Gloucester.
Boat owners are invited to drop off their shrink wrap during business hours free lumber and other debris for absolutely free.
By diverting this plastic from landfills, the program helps reduce pollution and protects local marine environments, supporting Seaside’s broader mission to preserve oceans, wetlands, and estuaries.
The program is open to all boat owners, no marina membership required. This initiative helps minimize waste and supports sustainability efforts by ensuring safe, practical recycling of shrink wrap, keeping our coastal ecosystems clean and healthy.
Thank you to our sponsors, including Linda Rowe and everyone from the Goodies Fund, for making this program possible! Learn More

The Lobster on East Main St has re-opened for the season ! My brother was visiting so we stopped by for lunch. It reaffirmed how happy we are that spring has arrived and the seasonal establishments are back to business. The Lobster hasn’t lost a single step. We splurged on the lobster Cobb salad along with blackened haddock tacos, fish sandwich and bacon wrapped scallops. We cannot wait to get back there again. Delicious!
Also of note in light of an earlier podcast discussion about public bathrooms, I was happy to note the easy-to-determine status for the bathroom availability at The Lobster. Extra kudos on the practical door lock indicators.
