I’ve always found June and September to be the best months for sunrises and sunsets, and so far this June has not disappointed! I stopped at the Bridge to grab the tail end of this one Wednesday night. How lucky are we!
Much thanks to Paul Horovitz for capturing this amazing sunset over the Annisquam on Wednesday evening!

We had a relaxing dinner at 525 in Magnolia recently.

They have a special cocktail selection that is raising money one drink at a time to repair the pier. Of course I had to help out!

Clam chowder, fish tacos and pizza!

Heading down south to the land of the pines
I’m thumbing my way into North Caroline
Staring up the road and pray to God I see headlights
I made it down the coast in seventeen hours
Picking me a bouquet of dogwood flowers
And I’m a-hopin’ for Raleigh, I can see my baby tonight
So rock me momma like a wagon wheel
Rock me momma any way you feel
Hey, momma rock me
Rock me momma like the wind and the rain
Rock me momma like a south bound train
Hey, momma rock me.
From Wikipedia:
“Wagon Wheel” is a song co-written by Bob Dylan and Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show. Dylan recorded the chorus in 1973; Secor added verses 25 years later. Old Crow Medicine Show’s final version was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America in April 2013. From Wikipedia.

Marion has been creating landscapes, seascapes, and florals in watercolor for the past 25 years. “I love how fluid, vibrant, and unpredictable watercolors can be. I had been thinking recently about creating in another medium. With spring here and all the beautiful flowers blooming on Cape Ann, it seemed natural to want to create something that would celebrate the emergence of all that beauty. I have long admired the work of Georgia O’Keefe. Her large and exaggerated forms bring a sense of importance to each flower she paints.”
Marion’s canvas pieces are large (2”by 4”), bright and appealing. The poppies stand out from a dark background. In fact, the poppies seem to “pop out.” Each piece makes a particular flower the star of the show.
Also during the show work by Donna Amero, a founding member of Local Colors Artists’ Cooperative, will be Celebrating Dragonflies with dragonfly themed stained glass in the alcove. “Dragonflies signify happiness, speed and purity,” says Donna.
The organization is also seeking new members. The group is Cape Ann’s oldest artist cooperative, and is managed and run by the artists who all share an equal status. The reception is an opportunity to meet the artists, see their work and find out about membership benefits.

This is very exciting for Meg, her family and her Cape Ann Special Olympics family to qualify for the Special Olympics. We will be watching and cheering for you. We are all proud of you.
Meg will be swimming the following events.
200M Freestyle, 7/2
100M Backstroke 7/3
100M Freestyle 7/4
4×50 Freestyle Relay 7/5
