Stephen LaPierreâŚ. the only year-round working oil painter in Gloucesterâs historic Rocky Neck Art Colony,  is a Visiting Artist at Montserrat College of Art this semester.  A sampling of Stephenâs  recent  âClowns with Cellphonesâ oil paintings, depicting this present-day circus, that some call âCirca 2019â …are on exhibit at Montserrat this semester at the invitation of the collegeâs new president, Kurt Steinberg.
Dr. Steinberg is opening the LaPierre Exhibit to the public, with a reception honoring the artist, on Thursday, May 2nd from 5:00 to 7pm, Presidentâs Suites, 248 Cabot Street, Beverly, MA.
Stephen will also give a critique of the âclownsâ for students and faculty  at 11:30 that day, with the public also invited to attend. The lecture takes place in Room H-201 at 23 Essex Street in Beverly.

Adventureman is at it Again!
Unbelievable! Jamie McDonald, Adventureman, is off and running again! Well, this time he isn’t exactly “off”…in fact, he’s very much “on.”  ON a treadmill that is. Running on a treadmill for seven straight days to attempt to break the 517 mile world record. Roughly the equivalent of three marathons every.single.day with only 90 minutes per day off treadmill. WHAT?

We were very happy to see this sign letting us know Sailor Stan’s would be open for breakfast on the weekends.
Also we were very happy to return to The Studio for (half price!) dinner recently. It feels as though the summer season is officially open now. Jim watched the Bruins game and I watched people. Great food, fun evening.

Great turn out for The Gloucester Clean up on Saturday
Even though the weather was not great early in the morning, there were great numbers of wonderful volunteers cleaning up. I would like to thank Joe from the DPW who was downtown, he was wonderful and really helped us out. Thank you the volunteers and to One Ocean One Love for the great cookout.
