Music on Meetinghouse Green is a free outdoor summer music festival at 6:00PM on the Green in front of the Unitarian Universalist Church at the corner of Middle and Church Streets. We dedicate this fourth season in honor of Linzee Coolidge and the late Beth Coolidge for their vision and generosity to the Cape Ann community.
Please join us for the 4th year of this unique outdoor concert series, hosted by the Gloucester Meetinghouse Foundation. The 9-event summer festival features a different musical ensemble on Friday evenings starting on July 5th and benefits our North Shore non-profit partners via free-will offerings from the audience. Concerts are held inside the Meetinghouse in inclement weather. amateur video from the pedestrian bridge: Look down! Snowy egret moved into place for maximum minnow opportunity. My husband thought it averaged spearing about one every 15 seconds. Anyone know what the minnows are there?

I hope everyone is starting off the summer wonderfully. I have some great news……Interest rates continue to slide and people’s buying power has been greatly enhanced. Also people can save money too!
If you currently own a home, and are paying 4.25% or more in interest, or have an adjustable rate mortgage, now is the time to get a rate in the high 3’s and fixed!
I am currently scheduling personalized refinance meetings at my CrossCountry Mortgage office at 180 Main Street in Gloucester next week. Bring your current mortgage statement, and I will run your credit, debt to income and savings analysis for free. That way we can find out how much you can save each month. We also have NO CLOSING COSTS loans and we also use local Gloucester attorneys to help us close these transactions.
If you want to find out how much you can afford on…

Thank you to the Holy Cow! I ordered 100 of their famous ice cream sandwiches for a school event last week and they could not have been more friendly and accommodating.
The children LOVED the treats and it certainly helped make their last day of school field day that much more special. Who doesn’t love ice cream after all?

Manchester: Beachgoers urged to be cautious in water after shark sighting
The notorious sea dweller was spotted by a man was fishing off his boat in the area. The uninhabited House Island is on the outskirts of Manchester Harbor, between Gales Point and Misery Island.
The fisherman later notified Harbormaster Brian Pike of the sighting. Interim Police Chief Todd Fitzgerald and Director of Parks and Recreation Cheryl Marshall were also notified.
There have been no other sightings since then. Manchester Police said this is the first shark report this year.
The Harbormaster’s Office will continue to monitor the situation and updates will be provided as they become available.
It is unknown what species of shark was swimming around the shore this week. Pike said Manchester typically sees basking and sand sharks. There have also been reports of great whites in the past.
In July 2017, a fisherman hooked an 8-foot juvenile great white off of Rockport.
“Wherever there are seals, there are typically sharks,” Pike said.
To report a shark sighting, call the Harbormaster’s Office at 978-526-7832 or the Police Department at 978-526-1212.
