Join Us Wednesday Mornings Through The End of August for Storytime on the Seaside Lawn!

 ~ HAMMOND CASTLE MUSEUM ~

Doors: 10 am
Stories begin about 10:20 am.
Join us every Wednesday morning in July & August for Bubbles and Books on our seaside lawn. Fairytales do come true at castles by the sea!

Start the morning with a bubble party featuring music, crafts, and a light snack. Around 10:20 am, we’ll gather on the ocean-facing lawn for storytime—bring a cozy blanket for your little one to cuddle up on while we enjoy tales by the sea.

This season, our Storybook Authors theme brings special guest readers whenever possible! Some of the wonderful guest readers this season include Rick Doucette on July 23rd.
After storytime, we’ll enjoy more bubbles and end the morning with a scavenger hunt around the grounds. We encourage little ones to come dressed in their favorite crown, cape, or whatever makes them feel magical!

Friendship Of Salem Heading Home

We were fortunate to catch the Friendship of Salem as it was leaving our harbor to head home after spending several weeks at the Gloucester Marine Railways. Here’s the update from the Friendship of Salem Facebook page:

We’re excited to announce that the tall ship FRIENDSHIP OF SALEM will return to Derby Wharf this Tuesday, July 15th at approximately 2:00 PM. The square rigged, replica East Indiaman, has been at a shipyard undergoing critical structural repairs to its bow, and we are all looking forward to having the ship back at Salem Maritime National Historic Site.

While FRIENDSHIP OF SALEM is able to travel to Derby Wharf under its own power, the ship will be towed to the wharf so that the cover can remain on the vessel to protect work that has already been completed as part of this multi-year project. The ship isn’t quite ready for its big reveal, so the cover will be on a little longer while the final touches are completed.

With FRIENDSHIP OF SALEM back at Derby Wharf, rigging installation will begin late summer and continue throughout the winter and spring to prepare the ship for America 250 and Salem 400+ commemorations.

Free public visitation on board will begin Wednesday, July 30th. The ship will be open for guided public programs on Wednesday to Sunday from 1:30 to 4:30 PM this summer and fall.

Insanely soft. It’s all in the details. We’re using the softest airline ring-spun cotton blanks for our long sleeve T-shirts. They’ll be the one you always reach for because they’re so crazy soft and comfortable.

Details. We’re not compromising on the blanks we’re using and offering customized to our city, elite apparel.

You deserve to be comfortable and look fresh as hell.

Love this time of the year

After working, my main concern is taking a swim and relaxing at the beach.  Magnolia Harbor with the pier makes such a pretty view.

Good News about Gloucester In Yankee Magazine

Hey Joey,
Gloucester is once again in the spotlight in Yankee Magazine.  In the July/August issue, there is an article about a friendly rivalry between two co-workers as to whether going to a lake or the beach in NE is best. The one friend decides to take the other for a day at the beach, & where do they go? Good Harbor, of course! The article is titled ‘Wading In’ – & has pictures of Good Harbor & a description of all that’s’ ‘good’ about it.

Fun reading & another shout-out to Gloucester.
