EASTER MORNING CHURCH BELLS FROM THE GLOUCESTER UU CHURCH
Church bells ringing from the Gloucester Unitarian Universalist Church on this beautiful Easter morning. You can very faintly hear Our Lady of Good Voyage from where I was standing (I think it’s Our Lady’s bells). Perhaps I should have tried to record between the two churches. Anyway, a handful of people had gathered outside the UUChurch and it was sweet when everyone clapped at the end. Happy Easter, Happy Passover ❤
With stressful times, we always need a laugh
I look like going to rob a stage coach. Just going to the supermarket.

Go Health Care Workers!!!
Did you hear church bells ringing?
Many places of worship rang bells in unison this Easter. Did you hear them? Please share if you recorded. Here’s a brief snippet of how the beautiful carillon bells of Our Lady of Good Voyage parish sounded this morning downtown.

As a follow up to yesterday’s post, here is a sampling of the 2020 hand painted Easter eggs by Betty Allenbrook Wiberg and Brenda Wiberg.
And some spring 2020 forsythia, and an Easter Parade clip, just because.
Operation Dog Poop Easter Egg
After last week’s podcast discussing how gross it is that people leave their dog 🐶 poop 💩 bags at the footbridge of Good Harbor Beach McCarthy decided to leave one in front of our house.
So after letting it ferment a few days we decided the Easter Bunny ought to return the favor.
Wishing You Easter Joy

I have to admit to feeling a little bit defeated on this holiday weekend, and I don’t imagine I am alone. But Easter and spring are all about rebirth and rejuvenation so I am trying to keep my focus on that. This juvenile eagle was victorious in snatching his lunch from the river and I felt victory in capturing the moment. We will feel this powerful joy again. Wishing you all the blessings of Easter and the joy of every small victory until we see each other again! Thank you readers and followers for positive messages and shared encouragement.

2020 Spring Market Data
Last week, we compared March 2019 sales to March 2020 sales, remembering that 2020 sales could not take into consideration the full effect of our current circumstances. (If you missed it, click here.)
This week, we compare the number of properties that were for sale in the MLS last year on April 10, 2019 to those for sale today, April 10, 2020.
Under typical circumstances, our analysis would be specific to homes in one neighborhood: by town/street/price range/water front/water view etc. But because the current “stay home” circumstances effect us all, we painted broad strokes that include all the activity and price ranges in Rockport, Gloucester, Manchester, Essex and Beverly.

If we weren’t all house-bound, the statistics might indicate:
- “Inventory is down 38%! Seller’s market!”.
- “The median ask price on houses is up 10%! The market is appreciating!”
- “Condo days on market are down 11%. They’re selling quickly!”.
But we are still house-bound…

Rina Cavallini Easter At Half Moon
Hey Joey, Saw this decorated Easter tree at Stage Fort by Half Moon Beach. It was sweet watching kids walk/bike by and take a minute to check it out. Can’t quarantine nature! Signs hanging with the colorful eggs said, ‘stay strong ‘, ‘this too shall pass’, ‘love one another’, ‘be kind’. There was suet hanging too. Keep it positive out there.

PUREST SYMBOL OF HOPE
I’d like to write Happy Easter and Happy Passover but I think this spring of the coronavirus pandemic is for far too many of us the furthest from happiness that there is. Instead I’d rather think about eggs. Our granddaughter had the best time coloring Easter eggs last weekend (and all the fun made her suddenly love eating hard boiled eggs 🙂 ). It was her little two-year-old self first time and she adored every moment. Imagine children the world over decorating Easter eggs. The egg is a universal symbol of new life, fertility, purity, faith, and hope. We can fight this coronavirus thing with faith and the hope for better days to come (and of course the mandated protocols).
I took some snapshots of eggs from around our home. We don’t have many Easter decorations but the ones we do have I treasure. They include eggs covered in origami paper that we made when the kids were little. A decorated ostrich egg found in a junk store. And a bowl of small speckled stones that I have been collecting from the beach because they remind me of shorebird eggs.
Send us your egg photo tonight and tomorrow and I will post them Easter Sunday night. Any egg photo you like. Thank you. ❤
Photos can be added in the comment section or sent to kimsmithdesigns@hotmail.com.
Don’t you love the the beautiful ovoid shapes and myriad colors of creature’s eggs?
