It was absolutely delicious!
We stopped by the Laneside Pub and Brewery at Cape Ann Lanes on Gloucester Ave recently to try their brew. Although I am typically not a beer drinker (except for the occasional Guinness), I ordered the Trophy and enjoyed it VERY much. As advertised, it was light and tasty. I would agree it’s perfect for bowling! I also tried the BLT. Jim ordered the loaded tater tots. The fare offered seems quite perfect for bowling in their beautiful lanes. Welcome to the brew game Laneside. Give it a try!

This app is free and it is a real eye opener as far as what I could potentially blow a ton of calories eating when I could be eating lots of other things throughout the day.
It links with smartwatches, cell phones and it has a ridiculous amount of food options when you go to enter what you’re eating.
I’ve lost 3 pounds in under a week thanks to the accountability and awareness of the foods I’m putting into my body. For me, snacking out of boredom is my number one weight gain fail. Using this app it keeps me on track!

Hey there! You’ve been invited by a friend to join them on Lose It!!
A note from Joey C:
“I love this app because it helps me stay on track with my goals. Use this link for a free week of Lose It! Premium, and let’s do this together!”

A ‘Wicked Tuna’ film crew was busy yesterday in the harbor, and then outside slightly offshore. The captions to these photos are my imagination as to what was going on.

My heart just sings when I see eagles. I needed an eagle fix, so we went to Mystic Lakes State Park in Medford because we can usually find them there. Disappointingly, we had no luck near the Medford Boat Club and decided to go look at the swans instead. We found ourselves enraptured by the variety of wildlife there and were just stunned to see an eagle coming from across the water directly to us. She flew straight overheard as if to lead us back to the Boat Club where we spotted two of them!!! Great day. We had kind of given up on the eagles, but she came to us instead……

Gloucester, MA—The Rocky Neck Art Colony (RNAC) is excited to hold its most prestigious fundraiser, The BIGtiny Art Event, on Oct. 10 to 14, entirely online this year. The five-day virtual event features hundreds of one-of-a-kind 7×7″ matted art works for sale, donated by over 100 artists. All of the proceeds from the BIGtiny Art sale go to the Rocky Neck Art Colony so we can continue to provide excellent programming, exhibition opportunities, workshops and events for our members.
The web venue makes it easy for viewers to see all of the artwork from the safety of their homes and to closely examine each piece. Many of the artists have big reputations but you won’t know whose work you have chosen until you see the signature on the back. The website will be ready for viewing on October 5 at www.rnacBIGtiny.com. Artwork is for sale for five days beginning Saturday, October 10, 2020 from 10am to 9pm.
Kathleen Gerdon Archer, Rocky Neck Art Colony president and event organizer remarked, “I am grateful to all of the artists who want to support the Art Colony with their donations. At past in-person BIGtiny Art Events, the people who arrived first had a great advantage. An online event gives everyone time to see the work and compile a list of favorites … but the rush to get work is just as fast paced. You must move quickly to get your top choice. The first day’s art will sell at $150 and we expect work to fly off the website. The second day the same beautiful work costs less — $100, and the third to fifth days’ work sells for $50. Take a chance and wait if you dare — but I’d suggest you go for it!”

The Rocky Neck Art Colony, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, nurtures excellence in the arts through exhibitions, workshops, residencies, and vibrant cultural events for its members and the public. Long renowned for its luminous light, this harbor and coastal location has been a magnet for some of the most revered realist painters in US art. Edward Hopper and Emil Gruppé are examples. It has as well been a catalyst for the progressive ideas of Stuart Davis, Marsden Hartley, Theresa Bernstein, Milton Avery and Nell Blaine, among others. Today, Rocky Neck continues to attract artists and art lovers to a thriving, creative community. www.rockyneckartcolony.org
With the weather so crazy this week, it was so interesting to watch the weather. This cloud reminded me of Independence Day.

Since early 2018, Jane Deering Gallery has been providing exhibition space to area artists. They pay no rent and receive help with promotion and publicity. Artists find it a rewarding experience and Deering believes it’s important for the area. It fosters growth in the arts and offers new visions to our community.
But these are challenging times. To continue providing this space to artists, Deering asked the many national and international artists she’s worked with over the years to donate a small work, which is now offered to the public for $20.
Here’s a chance to find a little gem for a song while supporting the gallery’s mission. Works are signed on the back — an Absolute Secret until you’ve bought the work, turned it over, and discovered the artist.
The gallery is grateful to the many artists who enthusiastically donated a work to this cause.
