| Dear Gloucester Business Owners and Operators, On behalf of Mayor Sefatia Romeo Theken, we are pleased to announce the City of Gloucester is extending its COVID-19 testing to Tuesday 10/20/2020, Thursday 10/22/2020, and Saturday 10/24/2020. We also want to remind you of two grant programs that may be of assistance to your business. The first grant program is provided by the Commonwealth’s Department of Industrial Accidents (DIA). The grant awards are up to $25,000 per business to pay for workplace safety programs. The City of Gloucester along with its partners will present a “Lunch and Learn” webinar on Wednesday 10/21/2020 at 11:30am for businesses interested in this program. The second grant program is provided by the Massachusetts Conference For Women and the Massachusetts Restaurant Association (MRA). The program supports women-owned restaurants with a $5,000 competitive grant. There will be up to 50 awardees. The deadline is October 22nd. There is a red “grant registration” and “conference registration” button below as the link embedded in the PDF for the “conference registration” is not functional at the moment. Please see the information below. You do not have to live in Gloucester to get a test. We hope that anyone who either lives or works in Gloucester and might have been exposed can get a test. Gotta Love Minglewood Harborside
We had another wonderful dining experience at Minglewood Harborside on Rogers Street a couple of nights ago. Hands down, it is my favorite “comfort” go-to restaurant. Delicious margaritas help quite a bit……Though the baked haddock is my favorite there, this time I had a craving for wings. I got mild Buffalo wings and coleslaw. They really hit the spot! I rarely eat all the wings on the plate, but this time I did. Great Buffalo flavoring! The homemade blue cheese is dynamite. Jim went for the short rib sandwich. Todd was our server, efficient and attentive. Safe distancing and masks are part of a protocol that made me feel very safe. We like to bring our guests there to show off our city’s restaurant choices. It’s friendly for families and small groups. We love it there and suggest you give it a try.
And, if you don’t have the FREE Serenitee app yet, check it out here and get ready to receive discounts and free stuff! Minglewood is one of the Serenitee restaurants and last night I was informed I have an entree and dessert on the card for my birthday! Win Win.
