My View of Life on the Dock

The sunsets in Magnolia at this time of the year are amazing. Facing south west gives the best colors in the winter. Shore Road has many of the same people walking and taking photos at sunset. We are called the Sunset club.

Greetings all. I hope that you are all keeping safe and healthy.
We are planning on having our annual spring art show and hope that you will sign up. There are a few changes due to Covid. We can not host the opening and closing receptions because we can not have large groups in the room. (Fingers crossed that we can have group receptions by the time we get to the fall art show!) We are extending the length of the exhibit to 6 weeks to allow for plenty of time for visitors to come by in small numbers. Depending on Covid status, we may offer some weekend hours towards the end of the 6 weeks. If there is a shutdown again, we will just extend the exhibit like last year …. Also, no theme this year. Show what you want and change it out as often as you like. Feel free to forward the sign up info to other artists you may know.
Please send in your registration and check by Feb 14 so I can let those who want 2 panels know if there are any available. I’m looking forward to filling the hall with beauty again. It cheers us up so much!

2021 Energy Reset: Let’s be honest. 2020 was pretty gross, energetically speaking. For so many, the heaviness and negativity has felt like a real weight on their shoulders. Don’t carry that weight into 2021!
If 2020 brought health challenges for you, Reiki can also help you with your healing and recovery. While Reiki is not a substitute for medical care and treatment, it is a great compliment to traditional medicine. If all of your body’s energy is focused on healing, you may find yourself feeling depleted. Reiki can give you a much needed boost of energy that can help your healing along and put some pep back in your step.

It was a very pretty day at Plum Cove Beach recently. It’s almost always pretty, so it’s a fair bet…. Anyhow, this post is for one of my special followers for whom Plum Cove is a favorite. I thought you might be missing it1

GLOUCESTER– Mayor Sefatia Romeo Theken, Public Health Director Karin Carroll, Police Chief Edward Conley and Fire Chief Eric Smith are pleased to share that Chief Conley and Chief Smith received the first dose of the Moderna vaccination yesterday.
Chief Conley and Chief Smith received the first dose of the vaccination ahead of a regional clinic that will be held in Gloucester next week to further distribute the vaccination to select area first responders. First responders recently became eligible to receive the vaccination through the state’s staggered vaccination distribution plan, which will release the vaccination to people through a list of groups ranked by priority.
The community is reminded that the vaccine will not be available to the general public until April at the earliest through the state’s vaccination distribution plan. To learn more, click here.
Chief Conley and Chief Smith each received their vaccination at about 4:15 p.m. on Thursday in Gloucester.
“This is a historic moment for our City, and I am tremendously proud of Chief Conley and Chief Smith for their exemplary leadership throughout this pandemic,” Mayor Romeo Theken said. “It is a relief to know they will be vaccinated against this disease, and we look forward to facilitating the continued distribution of the vaccination in line with the state’s plan over the coming weeks and months.”
“This is a big deal. I think anything you can do to prevent COVID-19, wearing a mask, washing your hands, sanitizing, distancing…I think those are all steps that are important that we’re taking, but the vaccine is really the cure to the problem,” Fire Chief Smith said. “I think it’s critically important to move forward from this to get everybody a vaccine that we can.”
“I’d really like to thank Mayor Sefatia Romeo Theken for her leadership and our Public Health Director Karin Carroll who has been the incident commander for this pandemic,” Chief Conley said. “I would also thank the Governor, Lt. Governor, and our local legislators including Sen. Bruce Tarr and Representative Ann Margaret Ferrante for all the work they’ve done to make sure Cape Ann received the vaccine in a timely fashion.”

Some wonderful volunteers working on the renovations at the Magnolia Library

This January I will be lending my time and effort to help re-design the library room at the Magnolia Library and Community Center. This is a really important space to our family and it is important that it continue to serve the community.
